Writer Intro / Masterlist

Hi all, my name is Phoenix Greenwood. I’m a young author from Australia who mainly writers fantasy, romance and Fanfiction. I also love sci-fi and LitRPG and want to write something in those genres in the future! This post is an introduction about me, as well as a list of my works with helpful inline links ;)

My Writing Journey

I’ve been writing ever since I could remember. My favourite subject in school was English and my favourite part was creative writing. I loved writing based on prompts and had goals to write my own story, but unfortunately never finished any projects.

In April 2021, I started writing and publishing my own Fanfiction on Wattpad. Soon after I also released my stories on ao3 as well, and I’ve continued to write Fanfiction ever since! I also am writing original work in the background and want to publish my own novel one day.

I watched the live orchestral showing of How To Train Your Dragon the other night and I have to say, it was such an amazing experience.

I’ve seen the first HTTYD dozens of times before. But, watching it with a live soundtrack made me feel like I was watching it for the first time again. To see a piece of my childhood be reignited in such a moving way was utterly magical. I don’t know what it was, but the music made it so much more moving.

If anyone ever gets the chance to watch a film with a live orchestral, HTTYD or not, I’d highly recommend it.

Chapter 28 of Goddess of Creation is Out!

Now that (Y/N) has received more information about his quirk, it's time for his training to truly begin! It'll be a long journey for him, but unfortunately the department of education haven't given him much time to improve before he has to prove himself.

Sometimes I forget this fic is supposed to be a romance story, whoops. But don't worry, the next chapter should further their relationship! I just need to set up some stuff first ;D

I genuinely don’t understand why people fight over ships. Maybe it’s because I’m a multishipper, but guys, seriously, don’t harass people for not liking a ship you like, or vice-versa.

The amount of times I’ve seen, “this ship is the best,” or “that ship is the OG,” in EVERY fandom I’ve been in is just mind boggling. Half of the time, too, NONE of those ships become canon, and the characters stay single or end up with a different character entirely.

I know that we love these character, and therefore their ships, but that doesn’t mean we have to be abusive to people who ship them with someone else. Please learn to agree to disagree guys, I beg you.

I’ve kinda just excepted that I’m not gonna be as consistent with my activity here on tumblr. I’ll still post from time to time with my thoughts and fic updates, but trying to post regularly isn’t going well for me, as much as I want to.

I’ll start posting when I feel like it, not because I think I need to. Hopefully that way my posts will be higher quality that aren’t too forced.

I never used to write chapter summary’s for my individual chapters of my fics on ao3. But, I started writing them for my announcement posts here on tumblr, and then was like…

“Wait, I should put these on ao3.”

I feel like a lot of people in the writing community sleep on using video games like The Sims or TomoDachi Life as a way to develop your characters and storytelling skills.

The amount of stories of told with my Sims in The Sims 4 that I adore is INSANE. Will I ever release these stories publicly? Outside of an occasional Reddit post, no. However, just telling a story through those means helps me improve my skills as a writer, thinking more deeply about character motivations and making things feel more intentional without being random.

Seriously, to any writer or storyteller not playing games where you can make your own storyline’s, give it a try. I respect that not everyone will enjoy it or find it useful, but there’s no harm in trying imo.

Sometimes I forget when worldbuilding that I don’t have to make the ENTIRE world. For example, if my story is set in one continent, I don’t have to build all the surrounding continents and their own unique history to integrate them into the man continents political system. I could have a rough idea, sure. But I don’t need to go in-depth and make something to the level of the main continent where the story is set.

It’s OK to when empty spaces in your worldbuilding. You can either build it later or just never explore that part of the world. If we shift are mindset to this, worldbuilding will be a lot less daunting.

I just finished outlining an upcoming fanfic, I’m so proud of myself! I always struggle to outline, but I know it makes for better stories, so I’m glad I did it 😊

Can’t wait to share what I’ve been working on. First chapter should be out soon!!! Unrelated question, anyone here like Pokémon Sun & Moon?

Chapter 27 of Goddess of Creation is Out Now!

With (Y/N) little expedition to learn more about his quirk from his aunt has revealed to be more tense then he thought, him and Mr Aizawa question aunt Kaya as much as they can about his quirk. She’s willing to give them the information they want, but not without criticising and belittling (Y/N) along the way, making him become more and more uneasy. He wonders if it’s worth the stress, but knows this is the right step to take.

Ok, so yes, I did write this a while ago now, and am only publishing now, whoops… I like to leave some time between the initial draft and the proofread. But, I might have procrastinated on it a little, too ,:D but we got there in the end!!!

Something I struggle with regarding writing original works is a feel like I’m not READY, or don’t have enough skill, to write an original story. I want to watch as many videos and read as many books as possible on writing craft, but there’s something I need to remind myself time and time again…

If I don’t write NOW, I’ll NEVER write what I want to. Improvement comes from experience, experimenting and trial and error, NOT endless research of information that I’ll forget majority of anyway. Not that doing research is a bad thing, it’s not. But there’s a point where it becomes a barrier instead of a bridge.

So if you’re like me, and feel like you’re not ready to write. Just start. Put pen to paper (Or keyboard to.. whatever) and start! There’s no time like the present.

Having so many ideas for stories (Original or Fanfiction) can be such a blessing and a curse at the same time.

Yes, it’s cool to have enough concepts to be able to write until the end of time. But, what do you mean they all want to be written NOW?! Get in line guys! I can’t write that many stories at once!!!

finally outlined the book bc i was just free-balling the whole time and boy oh boy is life so much easier. cute tip: make sure you outline your plot, even vaguely. it saves u a shit ton of time of "wait what comes next after this scene.."

I hate how true this is. I know for a FACT that outlining makes my stories better, but I just don’t enjoy it 😭
