"You are as sick as your secrets"
Well, the phrase is actually "you are only as sick as your secrets". Apparently it comes from AA. I heard this a few days ago for the first time and had one of those Aha! moments that feel like remembering a snippet that has been on the tip of your tongue for days. A moment of satisfaction at the simple articulation of a sentiment I've been trying, and failing, to articulate these past years. Healing comes from within. As long as we are fighting to protect an image or struggle to present ourselves with an unmarred surface, then the authenticity of change cannot be relied on. I am messy, I am not graceful. I am full of conflict. But I am honest.

O All you [Tathágatas] and all the others, however many Tathágatas, the Foe Destroyers, the Completely Perfect Buddhas, the Blessed Ones there are dwelling and abiding in all the worldly realms of the ten directions, all you Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, please listen to me.
In this life and in all my lives since beginning-less time, in all my places of rebirth while wandering in samsára, I have done negative actions, have ordered them to be done, and have rejoiced in their being done. I have stolen the property of the bases of offering, the property of the Sangha, and the property of the Sanghas of the ten directions, have ordered it to be stolen, and have rejoiced in it being stolen. I have committed the five unbounded heinous actions, have ordered them to be committed, and have rejoiced in their being committed. I have completely engaged in the paths of the ten non-virtuous actions, have ordered others to engage in them, and have rejoiced in their engaging in them.
Being obstructed by such karmic obstructions, I shall become a hell being, or I shall be born as an animal, or I shall go to the land of the hungry ghosts, or I shall be born as a barbarian in an irreligious country, or I shall be born as a long-life god, or I shall come to have incomplete senses, or I shall come to hold wrong views, or I shall have no opportunity to please a Buddha.
All such karmic obstructions I declare in the presence of the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, who have become exalted wisdom, who have become eyes, who have become witnesses, who have become valid, who see with their wisdom. I confess without concealing or hiding anything, and from now on I will avoid and refrain from such actions.
All you Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, please listen to me. In this life and in all my previous lives since the beginning-less time, in all my places of rebirth while wandering in samsára, whatever root of virtue there is in my giving to others, even in my giving a morsel of food to one born as an animal; whatever root of virtue there is in my maintaining moral discipline; whatever root of virtue there is in my actions conducive to great liberation; whatever root of virtue there is in my acting to fully ripen sentient beings; whatever root of virtue there is in my generating a supreme mind of enlightenment; and whatever root of virtue there is in my unsurpassed exalted wisdom; all of these assembled, gathered, and collected together, by fully dedicating them to the unsurpassed, to that of which there is no higher, to that which is even higher than the high, and to that which surpasses the unsurpassed, I fully dedicate to the unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment.
Just as the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones of the past, have dedicated fully, just as the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones who are yet to come, will dedicate fully, and just as the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones who are living now, dedicate fully, so too do I dedicate fully.
I confess individually all negative actions. I rejoice in all merit. I beseech and request all the Buddhas. May I attain the holy, supreme, unsurpassed, exalted wisdom.
Whoever are the Conquerors, the supreme beings living now, those of the past, and likewise those who are yet to come, with a boundless ocean of praise for all your good qualities, and with my palms pressed together I go close to you for refuge.
This Sutra is a sort of a confessions and repentance. When we went over this many years ago at UD, a Western approach was taught to us: -our morality and ethics are not created by God/a Supreme being. - when we create negative karma, it is not an offense against God, it is merely unskillful. -confessing and requesting is not asking for a Gods forgiveness, it is acknowledging cause and effect; a process of seeing how we create suffering and resolving to correct the habit and remove the pattern. - confessing is just the lay bare, to stop hiding, to own up so that it can be purified and moved through, beyond. - paying homage to the 35 Buddhas is saying, ‘we aspire to be like you who have achieved -in dedicating the practice, whenever we achieve virtuous merit we should dedicate it to permanent goals as opposed to temporary goals; goal of buddha-state and being free from confusion. 10 non virtues: - broken down into physical, speech and mind - physical 1.killing - a sentient being, 2. having the intention to kill, 3. carrying out the killing, 4 succeeding in killing 2.stealing - desire to steal, effort put forth to steal, and succeeding in stealing 3.sexual misconduct - intention, efffort, succeeding. misconduct defined as - relations with those we are not to; incest, celibate people, people who do not or cannot consent, people are are married/ in a monogamous relationship, minors. the end goal here is the avoid creating harm. - Divisive speech 4.Lying - chance to lie, intention to lie, effort to lie, succeeding in lying. 5. sewing discord- instigating, back stabbing, slander, etc. 6. harsh, hurtful, hateful speech- intended to hurt 7. idle gossip/ worthless chatter- social settings, BE AWARE- starts innocently but isnt productive or go anywhere, often leads to the other three forms of divisive speech. - Mind 8. covetousness 9. ill will/ wishing harm 10. wrong view - denying cause and effect, nihilism & eternalism- developng wisdom is the fix for this.

Today I went on a work interview in which prospective employer asked me to buy him cigarettes and an apple juice (and pay for it) yet provided me with absolutely zero details about the position The world continues to get more and more strange
Henry Chapront (1876-1965), ‘La Possession’, from “Là-Bas” (The Damned) by J.K. Huysmans, 1924 “In 19th century Paris, with its preoccupations with sexuality, death, and evil, no figure cut a more sensual and diabolical presence than that of Hyacinthe Chantelouve, the fictional femme fatale and satanic initiatrix of J.K. Huysmans‘ novel, Là-Bas. Madame Chantelouve was the dark reflection of the emancipated “New Woman.” She seemed to represent in equal parts all that traditional society feared, yet secretly desired. A divorcee, living openly in a polyamorous relationship, she sexually pursued men without reservation and relished in enacting the most ornate of blasphemies through her involvement with the Parisian Satanic underground. In the novel it is Mme Chantelouve who serves as the guide for the narrator’s descent into the depths of the occult demimonde. So influential was the character of Madame Chantelouve that she became something of an aspirational figure among those women who sought to foster a more sinister allure.” Source: http://www.dirgemag.com/flowers-evil-satanic-feminists-bohemian-paris-part-1-berthe-de-courriere/

Who includes diversity and is Nature, Who is the amplitude of the earth, and the coarseness and sexuality of the earth, and the great charity of the earth and the equilibrium also, Who has not look’d forth from the windows the eyes for nothing, or whose brain held audience with messengers for nothing, Who contains believers and disbelievers, who is the most majestic lover, Who holds duly his or her triune proportion of realism, spiritualism, and of the æsthetic or intellectual, Who having consider’d the body finds all its organs and parts good, Who, out of the theory of the earth and of his or her body understands by subtle analogies all other theories, The theory of a city, a poem, and of the large politics of these States; Who believes not only in our globe with its sun and moon, but in other globes with their suns and moons, Who, constructing the house of himself or herself, not for a day but for all time, sees races, eras, dates, generations, The past, the future, dwelling there, like space, inseparable together.

Gentry and I are both down with some kind of lethargy illness this week in which we both have symptoms of absolutely zero energy and major fatigue when any energy is exerted. I’ve been sleeping a lot lately and its produced some interesting dreams... I just woke from one in which I was the editor for a wildly popular sex-pos magazine; I was reviewing Bad-Dragon strap on tentacle toys and calling for less fem-sub submissions and more queer and fem-domme pegging submissions. Now I just want to play with a bunch of weird alien and monster dildos.
A grove there was, never profaned since time remote, enclosing with its intertwining branches the dingy air and chilly shadows, banishing sunlight far above. In this grove there are no rustic Pans or Silvani, masters of the forests, or Nymphs, but ceremonies of the gods barbarous in ritual, altars furnished with hideous offerings, and every tree is sanctified with human blood. If antiquity at all deserves credence for its awe of the gods, the birds fear to sit upon those branches, the beasts fear to lie in those thickets; on those woods no wind has borne down or thunderbolts shot from black clouds; though the trees present their leaves to no breeze, they have a trembling of their own. Water pours from black springs and the grim and artless images of gods stand as shapeless fallen tree-trunks. The decay itself and pallor of the timber now rotting is astonishing; not so do people fear deities worshipped in ordinary forms: so much does ignorance of the gods they dread increase their terror. Now it was rumoured that often the hollow caves below rumbled with earthquakes, that yew-trees fell and rose again, that flames shone from trees which were not on fire, that snakes embraced and flowed around the trunks. That place the people do not visit with worship near at hand but leave it to the gods: when Phoebus is in mid-sky or black night commands the heavens, even the priest dreads to approach and fears to surprise the master of the grove.

Welcome to the official Gorgeous Geology’s Guide to Things Not To Put Up Yourself. This guide will help you find minerals that could kill you if you enjoy them a little too much! Precious minerals are used in everything from circuit boards to tableware. They’re also some of the most toxic materials known to science, and excavating them has proved so dangerous over the years, some have been phased out of industrial production altogether. Listed below are a handful of toxic or deadly minerals on earth.
Actinolite - May contain asbestos.
Adamite - Contains arsenic and some copper
Bixbite
Emerald Erionite - It looks a lot like asbestos minerals and harms humans much in the same way: mesothelioma.
Chalcanthite - Not something to be played with as it’s hydrated copper sulphate. It is water soluble and will crystallise out again from solution. The copper in this mineral is very bio-available and is toxic to plants and in high quantities toxic to humans.
Aquamarine
Goshenite Bumble Bee Jasper - Contains Sulphur and Arsenic
Heliodor -
Morganite
Hutchinsonite - Is a sulfosalt mineral of thallium, arsenic and lead. A nasty mix of poisons, particularly thallium as it can cause hair loss, serious illness and death.
Black Tourmaline
Boji-stones - Contains some sulphur, pyrite and/or marcasite
Celestite - Contains strontium
Chalcopyrite (peacock stone) Contains copper and sulphur
Chrysocolla
Cinnabar - This is the single most toxic mineral to handle on earth. It is the world’s main source of mercury and has been mined since Neolithic times. However, when oxidized, this element will produce methyl mercury and dimethyl mercury, two toxic compounds that cause irreparable harm to the nervous systems of children. It is deadly in small concentrations and can be absorbed through the respiratory tract, intestines, or skin.
Conicalcite
Fluorite - Contains fluorine
Gem Silica
Galena - Contains lead which doesn’t get flushed out of your system. It accumulates over the years, eventually reaching toxic levels. Once that happens both you and your kids pay the price, as lead toxicity is carcinogenic to you and is teratogenic (causing severe birth defects) to your offspring. Garnierite (aka Falcondoite) - Contains nickel
Lapis Lazuli - Contains pyrite
Malachite :
Markasite
Mohawkite - Contains copper and Arsenic
Moldavite - Contains aluminium oxide
Moonstone Asbestos
Morganite
Pietersite - Fibrous form contains asbestos
Prehnite
Psiomelan - Contains barium
Pyrite - Contains sulphur
Realgar - Contains sulphur and arsenic
Ruby
Sapphire
Selenite - Contains Selenium
Serpentine - Fibrous form contains asbestos
Smithsonite
Sodalite
Spinel
Spodumene (aka Kunzite)
Staurolite
Stibnite - Contains lead and antimony
Stilbite
Sugilite -
Sulphur
Sunstone
Tanzanite – Gem variety of Zoisite.
Tiger Eye - Fibrous form contains asbestos
Topaz
Tourmaline
Torbernite - This mineral is radioactive and emits the cancer forming radon gas. This is one mineral you do not want on your display cabinet shelf, let alone up yourself.
Tremolite - May contain asbestos
Turquoise
Vanadinite - Contains vanadium
Variscite -
Vesuvianite
Wavellite
Wulfenite - Contains lead and molybdenum Zoisite
Zircon - Contains zirconium, radioactive
For additional radioactivity concerns steer clear of the following: Deeply pigmented topaz, artificially dark (almost black) smokey quartz, very deep pink or red tourmaline, coloured diamonds, deeply coloured kunzite and some cultured pearls
