BEFORE & AFTER. 10/04/18 THU. From Left to Right. Harvested Canada Lettuce, Mugwort, 3 Evening Primrose & 5 Chickory.
Harvested some Canada Lettuces (Lactuca Canadensis) for Phyre Saws and Hand & Bow Drill Spindles. Suburban truck is for reference.
Unboxed a brand new 8" X 12" Wood Mini Lathe that some guy was selling for $115! I turned a seasoned branch of APPLE for a Bow Drill (BD) Spindle. Smooth like butter.
"Is it OK if I take it for a spin?" 7/16" diameter Cocklebur (Xanthium Strumarium) Hand Drill on Cedar. Just because.
Blast from the Past! My then 7 year old daughter Alexa holding a 4ft level straight edge ruler next to a Canada Lettuce (Lactuca Canadensis) in our yard in July 2013.
In case anyone is wondering, Velma the Velvetleaf (Abutilon theophrasti) is still alive. Since I have a "black thumb" the secret is to leave it the heck alone and don't touch it!
Someone had a question about the Phyre Plow. Phyre Plow - A Single Stalk of Yucca - Yucca Blade on Yucca Base - 08/10/2018 Fri For More Info or Questions, Contact the PhyreDojo at [email protected]
So, this Velvetleaf (Abutilon theophrasti) started growing in a small patch of disturbed soil (which is exactly what Velvetleaf does) in my yard. And, I have to mow our lawn soon. I just don't have it in me to mow it over. So... welcome to the newest member of the Lau family: "Velma" the Velvetleaf!
7 More Hand Drills. Each has the permanent ID of its Common Name, the Scientific Name, The Base Diameter and a Serial #, Woodburned inside a 2 inch length of the Spindle. All are 22 inches long. Anyone looking for a particular Hand Drill Spindle Species? I have a rather LARGE harvested collection from New Jersey over the past 10 years. Email me at: [email protected]
2 Yucca Stalks for Hand Drill and Bow Drill Spindles and Phyre Plow and Saw Blades!
15 More Hand Drills. I sense some patterns emerging... 07/23/18 Monday
3 mile run and 2 mile walk on the boardwalk has its distractions... I'm talking about the YUCCAS.
More Wickedness... (10 more, actually.)
