can i get some black holes :00
.i had a mission a long time ago to watch on particular star for a while
.the reason i had to was because i had to see if it was still there
.eight years before i was given the mission we took a picture of a galaxy but when we went to look at it again one of the stars was gone
.heres the crazy part
.in order for a star to become a black hole it has to collapse on itself and go “supernova” in which it explodes and emits a shitton of light
.but when we went back to study the brightness of the star over time, it did get brighter but not bright enough to hit supernova
.so i had to see if it somehow created a black hole without reaching supernova or if it just became a duller star all of a sudden
.the star and lack of star is circled
.it counts as a black hole
.but not all black holes look like that
.you can find black holes in the center of galaxies
.like the milky way
.this is from an observatory bc i was never really sent to see black holes very often so it is very low quality i apologize
.but this is the center of the milky way
.see how you cant really see a specific black circle
.yeah pretty sure thats just how it is
.i will definitely take more pictures of potential black holes for you though
