antoinette comes from a rich u. corp family from the nest that secretly colluded with the frankensteins’ prometheus project. her family would secretly conspire with different u. corp syndicates to sell captives of u. corp backstreets as test subjects for the project. when u. corp found out about the family’s illegal human trafficking, l. corp decided to use antoinette’s family as a scapegoat to avoid getting caught for the project. thus, antoinette’s family took all the blame and was outcasted from u. corp’s nest.
they were driven out of the nest where the family was met with harsh and unforgiving citizens of u. corp’s backstreets. the citizens of the backstreets will never forget or forgive antoinette’s family for the suffering they caused through their illegal trafficking. so in return, they gave antoinette’s family the cruelest of treatment to them. antoinette only sought comfort in her family’s gardens and her nurse, cristophine. antoinette’s mother, annette, fell into depression. in a desperate attempt to save her family, annette married a rich u. corp nest official, mr. mason, to lift them up from poverty.
after the marriage, mr. mason renovated their manor. however, the citizens began to resent mr. mason and antoinette’s family more, believing they were just showing off their wealth to the poor. one fateful night, an angry mob of backstreets citizens burned down antoinette’s manor and set it aflame. antoinette will never forget how the flames have claimed both her little brother and her mother.
later in life, in order for antoinette to reestablish her wealth and social status, mr. mason made her marry a rich l. corp official, mr. rochester, who was unwillingly researching and funding for the prometheus project. once again, antoinette was thrown into a life of researching abnormalities for the prometheus project, forced to watch as more and more test subjects are being brutally experimented by the project’s researchers.
to cope with the distress of working with l. corp again, antoinette became attached to her husband, mr. rochester. however, rochester could have cared less about the marriage as he was deeply disturbed by the environment of her home in u. corp and was heavily distrustful of the researchers of the prometheus project, including antoinette’s butler, cristophine and amelie, who just so happened to work there. nonetheless, he decided to put up with the marriage after the loss of his father and brother caused his inheritance of a certain l. corp facility in u. corp.
that all changed when rochester received a letter from a man claiming to be antoinette’s half-brother, revealing that madness and mental illness runs deep within antoinette’s family. though he did not reveal the contents of the letter to antoinette, rochester decided to distance himself from her. because of his cold treatment received by antoinette, cristophine was disgusted by his behavior towards her and quit working with the project. the cold distance her husband gave her and the departure of her closest butler left antoinette devastated and alone.
antoinette searches for cristophine and when she found her, she begs to her to find a solution that would make rochester love antoinette again. although cristophine advises that antoinette should stand up for herself, she gives antoinette enkephalin for rochester. on the night that antoinette was going to present the enkephalin to rochester, both of them got into a heated argument after antoinette reveals about her past to him. to assert his dominance, rochester calls her bertha, which triggers her. fed up with his behavior towards her, antoinette slips enkephalin in his drink, causing him to be drugged.
when rochester realizes that he has been drugged, he cheats on antoinette with another woman, amelie, which causes antoinette to fall into despair. when cristophine learns of this, she is outraged with the way how rochester has been treating antoinette and decides to confront to him about it. however, rochester threatens that he will report to the authorities for both cristophine and antoinette drugging him with enkephalin. leaving her no choice, cristophine decides to flee from l. corp to protect both herself and antoinette. after cristophine’s departure, rochester declares antoinette mad and instead of sending her to an m. corp facility, he decides to lock her up as an experiment for the prometheus project. he hopes that once she dies off, antoinette’s body will be used to create an abnormality strong enough for the project. in the end, antoinette became the very thing her family has caused suffering to for many people involved within the project: a test subject.
despite the grueling experimentation she faced within the project, researchers were able to produce an abnormality while she was still alive. however, producing that abnormality became their fatal mistake. when the white nights and dark days approached, antoinette finally enacted her revenge. escaping from her containment unit and sneaking into the forbidden areas of the facility, she unleashed the abnormality that was created from her… the emberwraith. this abnormality did not just kill everyone in the facility. it burned the facility into the ground. it burned and burned, filled with nothing but hate and anger, until there was nothing left but ashes. and among those ashes, a young lady laughed and laughed. was it relief that she was finally free from the confines of the facility? or was it just pure madness and loss of sanity, as she finally got the revenge that she so deserved?
he didn’t know. rochester didn’t know. he just kneeled among the ruins as watched that woman laugh and laugh and laugh… as the flames flickered and burned behind her… it was almost as if… those flames were not eating her alive. she was simply comforted by the warmth of her own crime.
