As awkward as Clare thought the meeting was, it wasn’t so bad. - she actually liked his girlfriend.

Clare decided to go to lunch alone, something she was never able to do when the girls were always following her. 

Clare sees Bryan and his girlfriend and hopes they don’t see her 

They do 

Mandy: Just ask her 

Bryan: That’s weird 

Mandy: Why is it weird? You’re friends right? Excuse me, Clare? 

Clare turned around slowly 

Mandy: Hi, I’m Mandy, Bryan’s girlfriend. Do you mind if we sit with you? 

Clare shook her head

Ali: Jenny didn’t want to stay for dinner 

Clare: No mom. We had a fight. 

Ali: That’s too bad. You girls will make up, I’m sure. 

Not this time, Clare thought. 

Later that night Clare searched online for some jobs after school to begin saving to move out after Graduation.

Jenny: I knew this would happen. I knew you weren’t right for us. 

Clare: YOU’RE RIGHT I’M NOT. I’M BETTER! NOW PLEASE LEAVE!

Clare: I’m so glad you stopped by tonight, there’s something I need to tell you 

Jenny: Here we go 

Clare: Yes, this is exactly what I’m talking about. I want out. I’m through being mean to people. I want to graduate and move to the city.

Found Ali in the park sleeping...

Clare had noticed that the two haven’t been alone since they were kids - she was thinking about how she never noticed how cute he was until now 

Bryan: Seriously. Would you stop staring? Freak 

Clare: I’m sorry. I just missed you. 

Bryan: I miss you too, but I don’t think we can have many more midnight meetups in the garden. My girlfriend might get jealous 

Clare: Girlfriend... right (whispers) of course

Clare: Look, I’m sorry for what you think I’ve done but I would never be mean to you

Bryan: I know. I know you. You’re clever, weird, and pretty cool for a girl 

Clare: For a girl?

Clare and Bryan go back and forth arguing 

Bryan: You hang with the worst crew in school. They named you queen bee. You only have yourself to blame 

Clare: I haven’t changed! You are just judging me by my squad. 

Bryan: Exactly.

Clare: Yes! I’m Sure! I would never do that to you 

Bryan: Look. This isn’t grade school anymore. This is HIGH SCHOOL things have changed.

Bryan: You wanted to talk? 

Clare: YEAH! How DARE you ignore me at the bar like that! That was so embarrassing! 

Bryan: Would you get over it? Not like J would make you do the same thing 

Clare: Jenny doesn’t MAKE me do anything 

Bryan: Are you sure about that?

Clare waiting for Bryan and starting to feel like she should just give up and go home

They’re back - sorry for the short hiatus I was struck with the worst migraine for days and my queue ran out and I haven’t had time to sit down and write out what I wanted to but they’re bacK!
