Children’s dreams were always so creative weren’t they? That’s why Barbie loved them so much! They didn’t just let their dreams be dreams, they lived them! She was very happy to find herself in such a vibrant dreamworld at the moment.

“Hi! I’m Barbie! Did you make all of this yourself? It’s so fab, I love it! Would you mind if I threw glitter on it??”

Oh! It was that girl that Barbie had given a hat to forever ago! Might as well say hi! Barbie really did love the pink shade of her hair! Was it natural? Quite possibly! 

And then Barbie noticed that where she was didn’t seem to be the nicest place. Oh boy. Looks like hidden within that cute head of pink hair are some pretty dark nightmares.

“Hmmm... I was going to say hi, but you seem to be having a bit of a crisis here.”

Barbie lightens up after a moment of thinking. She has the perfect way to turn this around!

“I know! Glitter always cheers me up!” 

And out comes a spray can of glitter. Watch out, Clover’s dreams--here comes Barbie.

woah. that was… a lot of words at once. naoto cant help but feel a little overwhelmed. he adjusts his cap a little bit and clears his throat.

“greetings. i didn’t see your campaign speech, no, but if there’s a recording i’d be delighted to hear it.”

wait. did she say barbie? the blonde hair, the bright smile… all of this was familiar. was she like the doll that children played with?

“not to sound rude but… are you a doll?” he asks, realizing how stupid the question sounds.

“Hmm, yeah I’m pretty sure there’s a recording of it! It was broadcast on the local news channel, and I’m sure it’s found its way to HiveTube as well!” 

It was exciting, although she didn’t have internet access quite yet, to know how large of a spread her campaign speech already had! 

And then when she hears his next question, she laughs and offers him a bright, million dollar smile.

“Of course! I’m Barbie, the one and only! Isn’t everyone a doll?”

Of course he heard movies but the word princess caught his attention the most. Excitement radiated from his very core as a gloved hand grabbed the hand of the blonde. A smile upon his face as blues hues met blue hues. 

“Oh Barbie! Tis no words could explain my feelings at the moments. Your honeyed words makes my day and my tomorrow. But yes I am a prince! Edward! Prince of Andalasia. A pleasure to meet you.” 

He sang, pressing his lips upon the back of her hand. 

She giggled as he kissed the back of her hand. Such a gentleman! And a prince as well!! Well, she guessed technically she was a princess, as it was on her jobs list after all! 

“Wow, it’s totes nice to meet you! Prince of Andalasia? I’ve never heard of that country before! Is it nice? Far away?” A gasp. “Do you sing a lot there?? I love, love, love singing!”

       hm? that was new - he wasn’t usually approached by people mistaking him for someone else. at least, that’s what he assumed was the issue here - she didn’t look to be from the facility ( though perhaps artificial ), though wheatley wondered who he resembled enough to cause the momentary confusion. well, regardless of the reason, this ‘barbie’ seemed friendly enough.

         “ oh! hello! i’m - i don’t think i’ve ever met anyone named ‘barbie’, sorry. you don’t look familiar to me, either. maybe you’ve seen me around? ever go to the shop - that’s, um, ‘selcouth…sundries’? yeah. i work there a lot. maybe the school - ” he cut himself short before he could mention which classes he took there, to avoid embarrassment. ( being unable to read wasn’t anything to be proud of - but he was working to improve that. )

          “ i’m wheatley - are you sure you’re thinking of me? it’s alright if you mistook me for someone else, honestly - i do it all the time with humans. ”

She did apply to work at the school...but the name Wheatley... Hm...it was sounding very familiar. A quick mental inventory and...oh yeah! She did know someone by the name of Wheatley! Though he had looked quite different before that.

“Oh, silly me! I just remembered! You’re from Aperture Labs, aren’t you?”

Aperture Labs was...well, quite the group of scientists. She laughed offered him a smile.

“Sorry, I’m pretty big into science! It’s a totally amaze subject! Aperture had some...ah, pretty wild ideas!”

Hm...yeah. Wild. That might be a bit of an understatement. Still, if anyone could work on perfecting a combination of fashion and science, it would be Barbie. Or Aperture Labs, if they tried hard enough.

“Those are all super fab ideas! I’ll make sure to take note of them right now! I’ve also been totes applying to a bunch of places, and I’ll make sure that I work with them to make this city a better place for everyone who lives here!”

Any Previous Experience?: I’m sure I worked as a waitress at least once…it’s hard to keep track with 135+ careers, you know? But I am a flight attendant (and pilot), so I’m used to serving people!  Favorite Food/Drink?: All of them! But I do love cupcakes and sherbet!

“Well in that case, I’d say it’s really up to you!! You can try out different labels and see which one you feel fits for you! Think about it like trying on clothing! If it doesn’t feel right, you try something else! 

And just like clothing, maybe something fit you at one point, but it doesn’t anymore! And that’s totes okay too!! Many people will change how they identity in their lifetimes! So just try out labels and pronouns, and how you view yourself in comparison to other people of that gender and see what you figure out!!”

“Gender’s something you decide for yourself! There’s plenty of different terms for gender, and all of them are amaze and valid! People who don’t have a gender can refer to themselves as ‘agender,’ people who identify as fluctuating between genders are generally known as ‘genderfluid’! 

Of course there’s bigender, demiboys and demigirls, and genderqueer just for other examples! Gender is a very broad spectrum, and people’s own gender identities can shift over time! People who identify with the gender they were born as are referred to as ‘cisgender,’ while ‘transgender’ is used as an umbrella term for people who don’t identify with the gender they were born as! Even if you don’t identify with the gender you were born as, some people choose not to call themselves trans, but would rather just go by non-binary since they fall outside the gender binary of male and female!”

Briefly explain why you would also like to be employed here at the HCCC: Hi, I’m Barbie! I love working with kids, especially with my 3(?) younger sisters back home! Plus I love passing on a love for reading and learning that I got from my grandma, and I want to inspire today’s youth to pursue their dreams! Please list qualifications and experience that would make you a good fit for this position: I’m a doctor and teacher, and I have a love for art, reading and writing, and math and science! I think it’s important to encourage children to be as amaze as possible, and to live their dreams! The younger they start, the more they can accomplish!  Do you consent to a potential thorough background check from the director**: Sure!

Eiki raises both brows. She’s taken aback by her enthusiasm, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing – it’s certainly better than someone who shows a negative attitude toward their work, anyway.

“A nurturing individual like yourself would be a great asset. I believe you would be of best assistance as our nurse, which would also provide you with some teaching opportunities, such as nutrition, if you so choose.”
