The diplomatic, consular and representative missions of the State of Qatar abroad organized various sporting events on the occasion of Qatar Sport Day, amid great participation and interest.
In Vienna, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Austria organised sport events on the occasion of the Sport Day to highlight importance of sport and its positive impact on the life of the citizen. Acting Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Austria, Abdullah bin Nasser Al Fahid, diplomats and staff of the embassy and a number of staff of the United Nations Center in Vienna participated in the events. The program included several sport activities, including football, basketball, volleyball and other sport competitions.
In Accra, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Ghana organised a sport event, which included football matches. The event was attended by Qatar’s Ambassador to the Republic of Ghana, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Humaid, embassy staff and their families, a number of staff of the Qatar Charity and students of the Language Institute. At the end of the ceremony, Al Humaid presented the trophy to the winning team.
In Beijing, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the People’s Republic of China organised sporting events on the occasion of the Sport Day.
The event was attended by Qatar’s Ambassador to China, Sultan bin Salmeen Al Mansouri, diplomats and embassy staff, a number of Qatari students studying at the Chinese universities in Beijing and members of the Qatargas office in Beijing. The program included several sports activities including football, table tennis and walking.

In Astana, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Kazakhstan organised sporting events on the occasion of the Sports Day. The Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Kazakhstan Ahmed bin Ali Al Tamimi and members of the embassy participated in the events. Activities included walking, jogging, and other games and exercises.
In Naypyidaw, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar organised sport activities on the occasion of the Sports Day. Acting Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Myanmar Mansour bin Mubarak Al Khayarin, a number of Myanmar officials and a number of heads of diplomatic missions, as well as embassy staff and their families participated in the events. The events included tennis and badminton, free jogging and other sports.
In N’Djamena, the Embassy of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Chad organised sports events on the occasion of the State Sports Day.
The events were attended by Acting Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the State of Qatar to Chad Hamad bin Masoud Al Otaibi, embassy staff and some friends of the Embassy. Activities included running, football and collective aerobics.
In Athens, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Greece organised sport events on the occasion of the Sport Day. The events were attended by Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Greece Abdulaziz Ali Al Naama, a number of officials of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, athletes and sport and cultural officials in Greece. The events included a football match between a veteran Greek football team and a number of diplomats in Greece. The Embassy of the State of Qatar distributed souvenirs to the participants and thanked the Greek football team for their participation in the events.
In Islamabad, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan organised sporting events on the occasion of the Sport Day.
The events were attended by Qatar’s ambassador to Pakistan Saqr bin Mubarak Al Mansouri and members of the embassy and local figures. The events included walking, a football match, and a number of games and group contests.
In Bangkok, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Kingdom of Thailand held sporting events on the occasion of the Sport Day.
The events were attended by Qatar’s Ambassador to Thailand Sheikh Jassim bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, members of the embassy, the Medical Office, and Qatargas liaison office, in addition to the Qatar Airways regional office in Bangkok and some members of the Arab embassies accredited to the Kingdom of Thailand.
The Ambassador delivered a speech in which he highlighted the importance of the Sport Day which comes within the framework of consolidating the values of sports culture in society and turning it into a routine for all its members.
He added that this edition of Sport Day coincides with the atmosphere of joy in Qatar after the first football team won the Asian Cup 2019. The events included warm-up training, athletics competition, football and tennis competitions.
In Seoul, the Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Republic of Korea organised sport events on the occasion of National Sport Day. Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Korea, Mohammed Abdullah Al Duhaimi, and embassy staff participated in the event. Activities included walking, football, basketball and volleyball.
