For my last craft I decided to make homemade cards. My mom’s birthday is coming up and I thought theese would be really cute to give her, but first I have to decide which one I like more. Theese cards were really fun and super easy to make. I borrowed some acrylic paint from my sister and used an old giftcard to spread and create a pattern with the paint. The patterns turned out great! I will warn you though, this craft can get pretty messy. I happy I did this project. Being that this is my last post I can say that I have successfully completed 5/6 Pinterest projects in 8 weeks! Over the course of the past months, there have been complications, but in the end I learned that projects on Pinterest ARE “do-able”. Hopefully I have inspired and pushed people to trying their Pinterest pins instead of wishing they did. ThankYou.

This week I took an old pair of jeans and turned them into shorts! The directions were really easy to follow. I just had to cut them, cuff them, then distress them. If you don’t know how to cuff shorts it’s real easy, you just need a needle and a thread! I folded up the hem twice, then sewed at the inseem and outter seem to make sure the cuff stays in place. As for distressing the shorts, I first cut holes in the shorts and then went over the cuts with a jaged knife to create fringe. I am happy with how they turned out. I reccomend this DIY. Especially for anybody that’s reading this that might be too scared to cut their old pair of jeans, just go ahead! what is there to loose? Who knows you may just end up making a great pair of shorts! Next week I will be wrapping up my project. I think I will either try some nail art of some hair styles next!

This week I took an old Tshirt I had and cut it into a racerback tank top. It turned out super cute and was super fun to make. At first, when I looked at the directions, it seemed pretty complicated to make, but once I started, the design just fell into place. I 100 percent reccomend trying this DIY! If you do you might just end up making your favorite shirt! Stayed tuned! Next week I think I am going to try a special shorts DIY.

This week I was supposed to make homemade chapstick, but there would have been many comlications when it came to the inclass time we’re given, being that many of the steps required heat from a stove. So I decided to make ribbon and pearl bracelets instead, and let me just say, this craft was super fun! At first I had trouble with starting the thread, but once I figured it out, the rest was a piece of cake! This craft was also very cheap! In total, it probably costed me about five dollars. I think I will make that a goal of mine for the next couple of weeks, to use supplies that cost me no more than ten dollars. These bracelets make for a cute gift or accessory to keep! I highly reccomend making your own. As for next week, I think I will try to transforn some of my old T-shirts into racerback tanktops for Spring! Thanks for reading!

This week I finished my mosaic! I was really worried because I didn't have anymore gold beads so I had to get gold spray paint and make my own gold beads, as you can see in the picture above. However, the shade of gold that the spray paint made was significantly different from the shade of gold I had used, so I decided to finish the mosaic by letting the gold fade out and make the coins float above. This craft was very fun, easy, and cheap to make. I know Mardigras has passed, but for next year if you come accross this idea, you will be completely capable of doing so. I am very happy that I have completed this craft. Next week I will be useing a recipe I found on Pinterest to make my own chapstick! Wish me luck!

This week I continued working on my Mardi-gras mosaic. It was super fun and like I've said before, I completely reccomend doing. If you do though, I must warn you, to but more beads than you think you need, because beleive me, it won't be enough! Completing this mosaic was fairly easy. I didn't even need the picture from Pinterest to guide me once I got the purple outlined. I think I will go back and fill in the purple and gold this week, but for now I am really happy with how it turned out. As for next week, I am still brainstorming on what I am going to do, I might try a pin I made a while ago for making homemade chapstick...if you have an idea, feel free to comment a pin you've always wanted to try or a pin you think would be fun! This week I attempted to make a mosaic out of mardi-gras beads. I did not finish it, but it is turning out pretty nice. An obstacle I had to overcome was running out of beads, but once I bought more, the project was a go! This was a very fun project that I absolutely reccomend doing. It is very "do-able" and it didn't cost much money. I am excited to finish the mosaic in class this Friday. I will post the finished product then.

This week I made home made bathbombs. Unfortunately they did not work. I learned this week to prepare a few days ahead of a craft. I had fun with this project overall but, it was a bit difficult and I would not reccomend it. Next week I am making a mosaique out of beads for Mardigras :)

Intro

Countless times I've seen cool projects on Pintrest and never attempted any of them. For my 20% time project I don't just plan on doing one activity, I plan to complete as many as possible over the next 8 weeks. I hope this blog could be a source of inspiration for those who pin, but never win. Follow me if you support the cause, next week I will be experimenting with different nail designs.
