“Okay, I’m just not sure what they’re saying here.” Ollie points to a specific passage in her book, looking up expectantly at Piper. She’d been reading this exact paragraph for fifteen minutes, and still hadn’t been able to figure out what the person was trying to say.
Piper looked over the book, studying the paragraph. “It’s really difficult, honestly. I had a hard time understanding ‘the question of law’ when I first started, too. It basically means an issue arising in a lawsuit or criminal prosecution which only relates to determination of what the law is, how it is applied to the facts in the case, and other purely legal points in contention.” She hoped her explanation had helped; she remembered her first few months studying law. It’s difficult to process at times. “Did that help?”
