Installations by young artists making use of empty shops in Haverfordwest supported by the Arts Council of Wales and the Port of Milford Haven - a spacetocreate community arts project in association with Span arts.

POP UP POSTCARDS

Thanks to a follow-on grant from the Art Council of Wales delivered through Span arts, we have been able to produce a set of postcards showcasing the popupwest project, which over the last six months has showcased the creativity of more than 30 young people through 9 diverse art installations in two empty shops in Haverfordwest. 

The project was designed and delivered by spacetocreate community arts and as well as providing support by matching the young people with experienced Artist mentors, we have also successfully piloted the setting up of meanwhile leases on town centre properties that might otherwise have remained empty.

All the young artists and their mentors will receive a complete set of cards and the remainder will be available for a suggested donation of £4 per pack or 50p per card, with proceeds supporting future community arts projects in Haverfordwest.

CABINET OF CURIOSITIES

Between 12.30 and 3.00pm on Saturday 6 July the Mirror's Image Artists will be celebrating their intriguing cabinet of curiosities by opening up Unit 3 at the Riverside Shopping Centre to family, friends and the wider community.

Come along and take a closer look at this exceptional body of work made by George and Hannah Parfitt, working with Pauline Le Britton, who has also included a number of pieces including this screen-printed tryptich.

The final pieces are all in place, including this powerful lenticular painting by George Parfitt. At the opening on Saturday 6th of July there will be drinks and cakes and a chance to talk to the Artists.

Creating Me and You

Me and you was made over two Saturdays in June with a group of 7 young people from the Hawthorn Project, who worked with Artists Guy Norman and Pip Lewis from spacetocreate community arts. 

The techniques and processes we used included photography and projection as well as print and pattern-making, which all came together to create a vibrant set of colourful collaged figures.

Framed

This is a collection of mixed media art work which consists of photography, collage and paint. Carys wanted to highten beauty within nature, by not tampering with the images, but using her own creative skill to enhance them.

Hawthorn pop up opening

Friends and family are invited to celebrate the opening of "Me and You" from 11am-1pm on Saturday 15 June at Unit 3 Riverside Shopping Centre.
