What really scares me is that they all have significantly cheaper health care AND education, which means Americans not only make they least, they pay the most.
You do realize in Australia things are like 3x more expensive than they are in America right?
Increasing minimum wage would mean that employers would have to either fire employees or cut your hours, therefore increasing the poverty level. Increasing minimum wage also increases inflation.
If you talk to an economist, a REAL economist, the idea of minimum wage is stupid. Thereâs an equilibrium point for a reason, and for some reason, politicians and people in general canât grasp the idea that just because increasing the amount if money you have wonât increase your standard of living. Minimum wage is only a model that worked for the era it was created, which was after the Great Depression to combat the poverty then.
Please people, think about the repercussions of things like this before you go blindly saying âYES! GIVE ME MORE MONEY!â Itâs not always a good thing.
