Gallagher once again considered his options. He could tell her that yes, he was nervous. He hadn’t been in a serious relationship in quite a long time, to be honest. His previous girlfriend hadn’t admired him or looked at him the way PJ did. She hadn’t appreciated his intelligence, and had been more interested in telling him what to do. Being with PJ, he wasn’t being bossed around. Instead, he was finding himself willingly going out of his comfort zone because he trusted and loved her. 

Love? Even if he wanted to, Gallagher wouldn’t let that word escape his mouth at this stage of their relationship. What he was completely sure of was that she made him happy, albeit nervous. His heart raced as she got closer, and he smiled sheepishly as she spoke and laughed. The question mad him pause, before he let out a breath he hadn’t known he’d been holding. Nodding his head, Gallagher paused for a second. “I assumed you could tell.” He laughed a little, before he pushed his wet hair back off of his forehead again. “I’m not sure all of this is real.” He half joked. Seriously–this was real?

She could tell being so close to him made him nervous and she wondered if it had more to do with them both being naked or if there was another reason entirely. She smiled softly at him as he said he wasn't sure it was real, trying to ease his nerves even just a little as she pulled him closer until his chest was pressed against hers. "Does it feel real to you?" She asked, not belittling him in any way, but truly wanting to give him something that would ground him to reality in a way.

What she wouldn't admit was that she had been pretty nervous as well. She may not have shown it, but as she had stripped down before running into the water her heart had been pounding so hard in her chest. It stunned her, because she was sure she had never been nervous in any of her other relationships, but maybe that was why being with Gallagher always felt so different than the others. She wasn't sure how he'd turned her into a girly mess of emotions, but she certainly wasn't complaining.

Okay, he hadn’t expected for his girlfriend to jump at him and bring him under the water. Luckily, Gallagher was a good swimmer and knew to hold his breath. Once he broke the surface again, now in water that reached mid-chest due to his height, he pushed his wet hair back from his face. Blinking the water away from his eyes, he found that PJ was treading water in front of him. Hearing what she said with a grin on her face, Gallagher could feel his cheeks burning red. He was naked, in the ocean, with his girlfriend. He tried not to focus on the fact that the ‘predicament’ seemed to be returning. “I almost did, too.” He admitted, running one of his hands over the surface of the water to distract himself from the fact that PJ could swim closer. What if she did? As someone who liked her, and was attracted to her, and…well, as a healthy young man–he couldn’t deny that his heart was speeding up a bit. “I’ve never…done this before.” He confessed, as if it weren’t obvious already. 

PJ could tell he was growing nervous, but she couldn't quite tell why. Well, of course she knew why he was nervous, but at the same time she wondered why he was so easily nervous around her. Was it all girls that put him in this state or just girls who were naked with him? "Yeah, I can tell." She told him with a small grin, swimming forward just a little to wrap her arms around his shoulders.

"You know I've never actually done this before either, at least not with a guy." She said, laughing just a little. She appreciated the fact that he would jump into the ocean naked just because she wanted to, but at the same time she wanted him to feel comfortable with choosing not to skinny dip if that was what he wanted. Smirking at him, she inched closer. "Are you nervous?" she asked curiously.

He half expected her to understand his current predicament, and to suggest that they head in for the night. Of course, PJ was much more adventurous than he. Instead, she was glancing down in the direction of the situation he had awkwardly mentioned, before standing up and stripping her shirt off. Watching, a little dumbfounded, Gallagher caught the shorts that were sent flying at him before hearing her call back to him. 

Gallagher froze. He weighed the options presented to him. If he didn’t go, he might look like a stick in the mud. If he joined PJ, he was nervous that he might embarrass himself. Slowly standing, he took off his shirt while making his decision. Glancing up and down the beach, and certain that no one was watching, he undressed. As he approached the water, he modestly covered himself with his hands. As he waded waist deep into the water, he let his hands come back up. His heart was racing–he’d never done anything like this! “PJ…?” He called, looking for her. The moon was bright enough that it wouldn’t be difficult to keep track of one another. Luckily, the predicament was calming down. 

PJ wasn't sure if he was really going to join her or not, but was more than elated when she saw him headed for the water as well. She got down on her knees so she was only visible from the chin up and waited for him to pass her, calling out her name. Laughing quietly, she stood and ran as best she could through the water and leapt onto his back, bringing him down into the water completely for a moment. When they surfaced, she grinned at him. "For a second there I thought you were going to chicken out on me!" She told him.

She had only skinny dipped once before, and it had been with a group of her girl friends who were all a little too inebriated; she had been sober and the designated driver, but that didn't mean she couldn't have fun too. It was a different experience doing it with a guy, more specifically a guy she was really into, but she was more excited than she was nervous...even if she was nervous just a little.

Gallagher planned on suggesting that they head back to where they were staying. Then, he felt her lips moving down his jaw and over his neck. Instead of worrying, he found himself relaxing. The night was quiet, and he didn’t have to focus on anything else but the way she was making him feel. Oh, and how soft her skin and lips were. His hand rested on her leg, running over the smoothness, but not moving too far up. As they heard a sound from a distance away, he opened his eyes and looked in that direction. When PJ’s voice asked if he wanted to go skinny dipping, his eyes widened and he looked at her with an incredulous smile. “I…uh, what–?” He didn’t know what to say to that. Upon further thought, he realized that their make-out session had caused…something to make a more noticeable appearance. Making sure his hips were pressed against her torso or leg or anything, he took a slow breath. Okay, maybe he was a little embarrassed. “I’m not sure it’s the…best time?” He spoke, not super interested in telling his girlfriend that she’d already excited him. 

At his response, PJ grinned at him before biting her bottom lip and glancing down. Her eyebrow raised and she met his eyes again before rolling away from him and standing quickly, "I think it's the perfect time." She teased before lifting her shirt over her head and tossing it at him. She started walking backwards towards the water, unbuttoning her shorts until she could slide them down her legs and kick them at him as well. "You coming or what?" She called, turning her back to him as she unsnapped her bra and dropped it in the sand before taking off in a jog towards the water. She paused long enough to shed her underwear and then dove into the water, not waiting to see if he was actually going to follow her or not.

If they were in the daylight, Gallagher likely would have gotten self conscious and stopped things. However, the beach was practically deserted and they weren’t in a very visible area. As they continued with their actions, Gallagher was surprised when she pulled him down. He didn’t pull away, though. His eyebrows shot up for a second, sure, but the change certainly wasn’t unwelcome. Within a moment, he relaxed, moving one of his hands to support his weight while the other slid to her waist. When the need for air became too great, Gallagher broke the kiss, his lips moving to her neck as he caught his breath. 

She had been running low on oxygen too, but unwilling to pull away. When he did first she took in a deep, much needed breath before kissing his jaw and following it down to his neck. She wasn't sure how far this would go here on the beach, but she was very okay with trying to find out. The sound of the waves was calming and they were all alone, not much could interrupt them. That was until she heard a high pitched squeal of laughter from further down the beach and then splashing. She looked in that direction and then grinned, bringing her lips to Gallagher's ear. "Want to go skinny dipping?"

He didn’t have the highest degree of self confidence, but being with PJ was helping Gallagher to realize that he must have something good to offer. If not, he surely wouldn’t be able to keep a girlfriend like her. He’d smiled against her lips moments ago, but the expression faded as the young man noticed the shift in the kiss. There was something in it that was normally cut short by interruptions. As Gallagher returned the enthusiasm, one of his hands moved to wrap around her, pulling her closer by her waist. The other hand had left her knee and absentmindedly brushed higher on her leg. 

How was it that all he had to do was kiss her like that to turn her into goo? One of her hands moved to tangle in the hair at the back of his head and she used the other to grip the front of his shirt as she tried not to lose control as his hand brushed her thigh. This was going to get to the level of excessive PDA quick, but she didn't are; it was nighttime and no one was around. So nothing was stopping her as she slowly laid back against the sand, pulling him along with her and deepening the kiss further.

Gallagher ran a hand through his wet hair to make sure it didn’t stick to his forehead as he sat down on the sand next to PJ. He looked out at the water as well, taking a breath as a smile played on his lips. The expression remained when his attention was brought back to his girlfriend. Leaning in when her hands reached over to his face, Gallagher closed his eyes when their lips met. After the initial kiss, his hand had moved to rest against her knee, smiling as they broke for air. “Yeah, that would’ve been very distracting.” He agreed. 

PJ grinned at his response and leaned forward to press her lips against his once more, putting a bit more force behind this kiss. She was still surprised to find that kissing him was different from kissing any other guy she'd ever been with, and she was still trying her best to figure out why that was. Maybe it was because this was the first serious relationship she had been a part of in a long time, and he treated her like something more than a girl with good looks. Either way she was more than happy to keep kissing him all night.

He feigned surprise, his eyebrows raising as his hands moved to rest at her waist. “Oh, well, see. That’s why I’m not in the Navy.” He pretended to explain it logically, before a smile broke through. When she quickly spoke and slipped away, Gallagher grinned. “Wait, what?” He glanced back, and upon seeing no sharks…well, okay, he got out of the water quickly because sharks can swim in surprisingly shallow water, okay? Soon enough, he was joining her on the drier sand. Oh, right, she’d said something about a prize. “Please don’t tell me the prize is sharks.” He joked, approaching her.

As he sat beside her she laughed lightly, shaking her head. "No, I just wanted to get out of the dark water where we would not be able to see sharks coming if your prize distracted us." She explained, glancing back out at the water for a long moment before facing him again. Her hands reached up to cup his face and she pulled him in close, her lips connecting with his softly.

Gallagher laughed when their little splash fight began, shielding his face with his hands when she sent water flying back at him before she took off. Watching, he ran his hands through his somewhat wet hair before seeing her go under. For only a half second, he found himself concerned before she was back up and speaking to him. He grinned, following her out closer to the shore. Coming up behind her, he wrapped his arms around her middle. “Oh, that’s good. If I lost, was I going to have to fight the sharks?” He asked.

It was getting chilly now that she was soaking wet but she hid her shivers and turned around in his arms to smile up at him. "Unfortunately you would have had to battle with sharks if you had lost. It's a Navy right of passage." She informed him casually, playing with the front of his shirt. After a moment she shivered a little and glanced out over his shoulder at the ocean behind him. "Speaking of sharks...your prize is on the beach." She said quickly before slipping out of his arms and running back up to the beach. She ran up passed the wet sand and into the softer kind that stuck to your skin, sitting down in it to wait for him to join her.

He smiled despite her teasing, closing his eyes for a moment when she kissed his cheek, turning his head when she leaned back away so he could look at her before he felt water splash at his face. He jumped, and in doing so, lost his balance. He didn’t go under completely, of course, but he fell enough that most of his shirt was soaked. Turning to face her, he splashed her right back with a grin.

"Oh no!" She exclaimed as he fell and got mostly soaked and then splashed her back. "Oh, it's on now." She told him, splashing him again quickly before turning and attempting to flee towards the beach so he couldn't splash her again. Running in the water wasn't easy though, and she lost her balance when a particularly choppy wave knocked against her legs. She ended up going completely under water and she popped back up quickly, gasping at the cold air against her wet skin. "Okay, I think I lost and you didn't even have to do anything."
