Hi there, I’m Erin. I just recently got signal thanks to my bro, Ty. We’ve been sticking together since the whole blackout apocalypse, about two years now. But we’re alright, been hanging around the east coast of the US.

Try to be careful, check dates, if it gets warm out, keep low, don’t use your light. Good luck though, I hope it goes well. Have you seen strobes nearby very recently?
Thankfully no strobes, a few husks right now. We’re staying now, adjusting to the dark

Good news and bad news
Good news: the house we’re at has a nice amount of untouched food
Bad news: there are at least three husks roaming the streets outside right now

I’ve seen those lights for a while now. Been lucky enough not to be noticed
But it makes me wonder what they do aside from scrambling brains (I think?)
Does anyone have any additional information about what they do to humans? Specifically the red light

I still think abt this from time to time. But I have no clue who to ask about those lights
If it helps, I’ve been trying to keep an eye on them, trying to learn. You’re right in the red lights scrambling the brain, at least it allows for it I think, all I know there is that some time after looking into a red light, a survivor ends up as one of those zombie things. I think they stun someone, then do something else while they’re like that, I’m not sure, but you can get lost in the light, never look directly at it. Thankfully I don’t think the light physically affects you by shining on you, unlike the blue one, never stay in the line of sight of the ships.
Aside from that, and in my own experience, I can tell you that they make you feel exposed, close encounters, the feeling doesn’t go away for a while, but they make you feel vulnerable physically, mentally, they mess with your mind, I think it’s intentional, like even if you get away you’re still dazed by the experience, they bank on you being so lost in thought that you don’t go far. I talked about it more a few days ago when I wasn’t doing so well
I saw your advice, by the way, and it’s nice to properly meet you, it’s a great idea to have someone near you, it’ll keep you sane, I hope the rest of all of this goes well for you both, I’ll see you around on here :]

My only advice would be to blink rapidly for your vision to get back to normal

Stay somewhere dark for a couple minutes to adjust, you’re going to be okay

People have been watching this. I didn't think they would. I forgot that people even still existed. I've been alone so long. For some reason, my head feels clearer when I'm typing on here. I think I want to help people stay alive. Not from things like the flashers or the moving stars. There are other things out there. Things beyond us. Tip #1. If you're ever traveling in the forest, be careful where you step. If you start to smell sweet rot, or see claw marks on the trees, leave. If you hear a voice calling your name out there, don't reply. Don't say anything. Never reply to a voice if you can't see their face. Even if it's someone you loved.
