“It’s funny to me so that’s why I’m laughing and it wasn’t anything intentional. Things happened that was out of my control and I dealt with it accordingly. “Okay, there’s this thing called communication or better yet texting! I’ve never stood you up so I don’t know why you keep reiterating that.” Karter lifted her brow in response to the female’s reaction, chuckling once more with her head shaking slightly. “You really do because I don’t even know why you thought that was coo’ to say to me. And, I can get on yo’ ass! You was just on mine Naut—.” Refraining herself from finishing the rest of her thoughts, she nodded in agreement and proceeded to exit the stadium. Her index and middle digits flew up to the sky as she walked away; her tall man being the last one standing before she went disappearing into the crowd.

“Because I’m lowkey irritated right now and you’re laughing like it’s funny. You was just sayin’ how you would be pissed if I ditched our plans this weekend but you basically did the same shit. Then you gon’ say we’re here now like that’s ‘posed to fix anything. You really got me fucked up, yo.” Karter released a few low chuckles of her own as she raised up from her seat. “The game is over now so I’m out, that’s all that matters.” She further stated, her shoulders shrugging as her tongue navigated casually over her lower lip.

Nautica sat up in her seat eating some of her fries as she watched the game. “Its so hard to root for a side because I hate lebron but his teammates are really dope.” She muttered out as she continued watching.

Karter finished typing away on her device before tucking it back inside her purse. Settling her focus back onto her current surroundings, she noticed the familiar voice as her eyes averted over to Nautica’s nut-brown ones. “I should slap those damn nachos on the ground. We was supposed to come to this lil’ game together, remember?”

Although she don’t need to be eating this candy, she gone act a fool for Mack.” He chuckled and picked Kairi up, taking some of her cotton candy and eating it. “I was minding my business that’s all.” He wrapped his free arm around her neck and started to walk toward the way that his friend room was located since his daughter was staying with him and Sammie for the night.

“That’s the truth while you’re trying to be slick. Kairi should be fine though, we ate something solid before going mad with the sweets. I didn’t want her having a stomachache because of me.” Karter confirmed as she watched the two interact with one another; a habit of hers. Shaking her head slightly, she ended the daze she was in and digested the smart remark that fell from his lips. “Word D’? And I hope you stick with that same energy throughout the night.” Allowing her weight to fall against his tall stature, she stayed quiet while following his lead to their next stop.

Checking the time on his watch he figured the show was probably over by now. Sitting the box down on his bed he grabbed Kairi’s bag along with his phone and left out his room. Scrolling through it he responded to a few text as he walked in the direction of the theater where the live show was being held. Putting his phone away once he eventually made it near the entrance he saw the both of them coming out and shook his head, chuckling. “Did you wipe them clean of souvenirs?” He asked her as he walked up to them.

Hearing a familiar raspy voice from not too far away, Karter averted her attention towards her sidekick before casting her orbs over to the male that was approaching them. “We um, we enjoyed ourselves and I think that’s all that matter, y’know? The show was bomb, like I thought! So we had to cop a few things before saying our final goodbyes.” Karter briefly stated, her shoulders shrugging in a nonchalant manner while a smile curved along her pair. “What were you doin’ while you’re worried about us, hm?”

“It wasn’t supposed to be cute nigga and you know it wasn’t a joke. I was being real serious.” He chuckled and watched her as she headed into the room getting Kairi before walking back over to the door. “That was trash. An actual kiss would have been good, don’t be whining when you don’t get anything.” He stated aloud kissing his teeth as she hurried out the room and he closed the door behind her.

Karter enjoyed herself more than she intended, but Disney movies were always a personal enjoyment of hers; she blamed her inner child. With the show finally coming to an end, the two left out with unnecessary souvenirs while cotton candy filled up their hands. “Great show mama, ya’ daddy just don’t have good taste.” She joked, chuckling softly at her own comment while Kairi was busy tending to the sweet treat. “But I don’t want him fussing with me because you’re on hunna’ from all this cotton candy, yo. We’ll just tell him an old lady gave it to you.”

Hearing the knocks on the door he finished putting Kairi’s shoes on before placing her down on her feet so she could walk. Getting up from the bed he walked over to the door and opened it up. “Wassup Stranger?” He joked as he stepped aside, giving her room to enter.

Once his deep vocals were penetrating her eardrums, Karter pulled her brown ones away from the slides that adorned her feet and focused on the male before her. “You thought that was cute huh? Your jokes still suck, suck even more in person.” She teased, making her way inside of the room shortly after. Spotting the toddler within seconds, Karter picked her up from the bed and continued to stay on task as she started heading back towards the door. “We’re out, see you later. Behave, kisses and alla’ that. We’re late!” She later said, leaving out the room in a hurry.

Being on time was her main priority for the evening since she missed last night’s show. As she settled with her usual chill outfit, Karter left from out of her room before taking a small journey to his. When reaching her destination, a line of knocks were made against his door to announce her arrival.
