Given that Bedeku's magic is red, it only makes sense that they would possess a red soul in an U.ndertale context

In my defense!!!! I never saw red as the soul of determination. It was established that determination is just something all humans possess. Frisk's was just really high, which is why they got the Saving ability.

As far as I know, the trait of the red soul was never confirmed. So I can make it work!! Perhaps

"Now where has that one run off to?" An exasperated sigh escapes the man as he looks around. Despite his height, it seems like even he can't see everything. Especially a small egg Pokemon. Not even his Togekiss was this rambunctious when she was a Togepi!

The cries of a young Pokemon catches his ears. Without hesitation, he begins to make his way towards the sound. Thankfully, he's familiar with those cries and knows its not out of distress. Still, he hurries as the sooner he gets the little Togepi back in his hands, the sooner he can be on his way.

Unfortunately, it's not that easy for him. Volo finds his little Togepi pestering chirping at someone, waving her little stubby hands at her.

"Oh, it seems my little partner has found someone new. Apologies if she's been causing you trouble," he says while putting on a polite smile.

Bedeku had been doing their best to entertain the little Togepi until they could find her trainer, gently holding her in their arms while using one hand to play with her. At least they had assumed she was someone's pokémon, as Togepi were a rare species to find in the wild.

So when someone approached in such a seeming hurry, they were quick to glance up, eyes easily fixing on him. Even if they had to crane their head upward.

“Oh! Is this your pokémon?” They stood more straight, carefully adjusting the Togepi in their arms. “N-no, no trouble at all...! She's been very good.”

They returned the polite smile, then held out the little pokémon to return her to her trainer.

Pierrot feels the touch to his tail, and he perks up instantly before peering behind him, fluttering his lashes in curiosity. This was a new human, he hasn't seen them before. He makes his tail go limp, just to keep up the guise of it being part of his costume. The texture didn't feel like costume texture, it did just feel like what you'd expect a shark tail to feel like. Smooth, it's missing the wet texture you'd usually get from a water creature but it wasn't terrible.

He tucks his arms behind his back, observing quietly. It was admittedly cute how humans seemed to bat and play with whatever they wanted, especially if it was something not normal. If it were any of his other circus mates, he was sure they would have lept at this one by now.

Pierrot turns once he decides they've had their fill of tail time, and he leans down with a smile and a wave. He tilts his head, inspecting Bedeku now. He can't talk just yet, he didn't know if this human was safe... it was fine, it was something he was used to. But he lifts his hands, pointing at Bedeku and using the sign for "name." His pointer and middle fingers are out straight, and he taps his upper hand's fingers against his bottom ones. He... wasn't sure if they'd know sign, but he figured he'd give it a go.
