Found my old mechanical pencil. It was like a long lost friend returning - gave it a whirl with Boethiah. It’s still got it :)

Also trying a new background technique I came across, a sort of unfinished, letting the ground show through thing.

WIP Wednesday- so today’s progress. Nocturnal is pretty much done. I’d like to add more moon glow, but I’ll have to wait for it to dry a bit.

I'm the slowest painter, but here's Sonen!

I swear this paper says is suited for watercolor, but that's not true! It's beyond terrible. I fighted until the end, and even with all that, the illustration didn't turn out as expected. I'm a bit mad about it, but I know I should have tested the paper first.

I will try a alcohol markers painting next time, to see if this papers has some uses besides full ink illustrations.

Looks like Nocturnal will win the poll - so here’s the sketch for her :)

I love painting birds, especially crows and ravens, love all the blues and purples in their feathers. Always fun to paint.

Azura is finished! Wanted her hair to represent twilight, which was easier said than done. The idea being a setting sun or something - it made sense in my head…

Just a 50/50 choice today as I only have two sketches prepared:

And Azura is under way! Spent an absolute age tweaking her pupils. She was pretty cross eyed for a while :D - think I’ve got them okay now, though.

Absolutely hate gold leaf. Hate it. Gets everywhere - I’m covered in it, the dogs covered in it, the rooms covered in it. But that’s the annoying bit done :)

Kinda like the broken look of it.

Leave it to dry overnight then start painting Azura Tomorrow.
