Oblivion: Before The Door In Niben Bay, Deliberating.
Hermaeus Mora, Fatekeeper
"So, another seeker after knowledge enters my realm. I am Hermaeus Mora, Prince of Fate and Lord of Secrets. This is Apocrypha, where all knowledge is hoarded. Perhaps you will prove clever enough to uncover the secrets hidden here. If so, welcome. Perhaps you are a fool or a coward. If so, you are in peril. Read your book again and escape before Apocrypha claims you forever."
Psychologist: Indian Hermaeus Mora doesn't exist, he can't hurt you.
Indian Hermaeus Mora:
Hermaeus Mora probably has a more humanoid form to appear before promising adepts who are not yet mentally ready to see the prince's true form. Mysterious yet understandable, perfect for baby mages who think that knowledge beyond comprehension is fun and games
Birth of Moon-and-Star I wanted to depict a scene where Nerevar first receives a vision of Azura. Nerevar was in a moment of desperation not sure whether hed survive, as he was attacked, diseased and lost the last of his money to bandits. Azura used this moment to tempt him into a deal, giving him her blessing in exchange for undying loyalty and perhaps a special favor. She was drawn to him because of his inherent ties to prophecy and ambition, Nerevar had no choice but to accept this destiny. I think the true extent of Azuras motivations should be left a mystery.
The demented beetles are in this case a reference to the prophecy and whats to come, also blurs the concept of time suggesting some kind of influence from Dagoth Ur (from the future), but again i want to leave it ambiguous. I actually wanted to make them moths at first but the ties to Cyrodiil could not be ignored
Heres also a study of Nerevar, obviously much later on in his life :)
and lastly, close ups of the first image:
