I saw the bottles of india ink drying on my shelf, so I decided to fill up a sketchbook with it. I hadn’t inked anything for a few months, so it was pretty refreshing. Different mediums produce different results and sometimes it’s hard to decide what to use bc each has its charm.

HAPPY NEW YEAR here’s a study made with Paper by WeTransfer to see where my current understanding of lighting goes. Next I’ll be taking the 21 Draw lighting course to see how wrong I am lol

Last post of 2021. I’ve met my goal of posting art at least once a week for an entire year. I’m mostly glad it’s over TBH; for me, weekly drawing is just way too much! I’m a software engineer for a corporate entity by trade, so between life and work, sometimes I literally don’t have time to draw in a single week. So next year, there will be some goal changes:
I’ll ask be the aiming to get art out about every 2 weeks instead. Theoretically this will give me more time to make bigger and better work, explore more techniques, etc., instead just “pumping it out”. Exceptions to this would be things like Maysia, which still feels like a meaningful art event for me.
At the beginning of the year I was super out of practice and hadn’t really drawn anything meaningful for years, so prompt lists like Inktober were mainly so I could get back in the groove. At this point, I have a better idea of what I’d actually like to try drawing that aren’t just line art. I still like line work and won’t stop doing it outright, but I do have the need for other flavors, as it were.
I’m going to attempt to be more locked into the online art community, despite my own time constraints. I’ve been reflecting a lot on my job and career, and realized like any other industry, networking is still key. And not just for professional reasons either! Making more friends who do online art will make learning and improving together more fun.
Been overthinking a lot lately so just tried to feel it out
