so last weekend was crazy, and it wore me down so much that i didnât end up making this round up post until literally a week later oops
why was it so exhausting you ask because i did two cons in two totally different cities in one weekend
first up was ACEN,
acen is the big chicago anime con, and i am not exactly an anime fan (barely a video game one so i felt a bit out of place)
a few days before i had even posted on all social media being like âwhat can i make quick because i have nothing for this conâ and my adorable friend anna said âjess be my emilyâ so here i amÂ
this was a last min rush cosplay but it turned out cute and we got cute pics together so i am happy !
i ended up being late for the overwatch meet up though which was a little disappointing
also the overwatch meet up was the only place people recognized my cosplay, though i did get asked two times if i was supposed to  be amy pond, so apparently all gingers are dr who now
i did have a pass (which i got for free from a photog friend!!) and explored the floor and stuff a bit, but honestly not being an anime fan made none of the con very enjoyable.Â
idk man people hyped acen up and it just... fell short
which is why it was a good thing the next day was motor city comic con
so this con is in detroit, which means we had a five hour drive there and a five hour drive back. thru the very unexciting parts of michigan
thankfully my car was super chill and we played some great car games like fuck, marry, kill dctv celebs and who can we make the most uncomfortable the fastest
they were good guys who as a bonus ! got me in free
(have i mentioned i love free cons??)
my selina kyle cosplay was recognized more than my emily though still not a whole lot, but it was comfy and that was what mattered
went to billie piperâs panel which was pretty cute and fun
ive determined wandering the floor is just not as fun when you have no money but getting to see cosplays from things i recognized was really nice
also i got a photoshoot of my cosplay and photos from that will be coming soon!
all in all motor city was just the more fun con for me, and def the one i will be doing next year if these happen to fall on the same weekend again

this past weekend was C2E2 and it was incredible! i got to hang out with, and meet some, amazing people! got to get my cosplay on! just basically i am so glad that the big chicago con turned out to be so amazing and even though i am very broke, i didnt need money to make it fun and worth while!Â
now, time for that round up post:
obviously first off is cosplay, i cosplayed all three days which was super fun and thankfully (almost) all of my cosplays were comfortable enough for me to get around and see the con without any issue!Â
friday i was bobbi morse, in the style of the mockingbird 8 cover. which was perfect for exploring the show floor in though i did get stopped a number of time by people asking me what exactly my "feminist agenda" was (which tbc is kiss cute girls)
saturday, i was the agents of shield version of madame hydra, which was a hit in the best of way. which was most people telling me how evil and awful she was and getting my photo op with iain de caestecker where we looked "evil"Â
sunday, i closed out the con with my bombshell jesse quick which was when things got complicated because apparently knowing how to ice skates does not mean knowing how to roller skate and i may or may not have fallen down 3 times before giving up and dropping my skates off at the age of geeks table in cosplay central
really one of the great things about cosplaying is being recognized for your character and each time i had that happen. with bobbi i was stopped a lot for photos, which was helped by the fact that the lovely @geeky-mikaboo was dressed as america chavez! with madame hydra, i took one step into the convention center and was stopped for photos instantly + hanging out at aos stuff all day made me recognizable. Â while with jesse quick i had a few people recognize me (someone yelled "i love you jesse quick" while i was on the show floor, i did get called bombshell flash a few times and "one of those iron man dancers"???
some celeb highlights include:
 the wynonna earp panel + meet and greet afterwards. i didnt even know this was happening until the day of but it was such a wonderful surprise! the panel was really chill and the cast was just right there mingling with us all before it started  -  we gave tim rozen recommendations for what good chicago food he had to try when he was in town, including chicago style hot dogs! - i got selfies with the guys ( this and that ), who were all so incredible and just very fun to talk to- talked to new cast member varut about who good legion is and how he should read mockingbird among other lady led comics (he called me a feminist icon when he autographed my poster)- emily andras was incredible and just so supportive of the fans and honestly that means a lot
meeting iain de caestecker + the agents of shield panel- iain was super great and said "you're madame hydra that's incredible" when i first came up to his table - later when we had out photo op i asked him to look evil with me and iain said afterwards that he wasnt sure if he looked more confused or evil and when he wrote on my photo op he said we looked "evil ish" - we also confirmed that his evil fist is the arthur meme (tell me i am wrong??)- getting into the shield panel was a whole mess because we had an hour delay due to the projector started smoking and everyone had to be evacuated - a lot of great tidbits from the panel but honestly the highlight was iain confirming that robot sex def happened (if you want you can watch the whole panel on twitch)- just basically iain was incredible and he needs to do cons more !!
we also met elizabeth henstridge who was really sweet, and is really pretty, and it was just for a small second but she was really nice
we met zachary levi, because this line was empty and we just wanted to say hello! he was super chill and gave a shout out for mika's cousin who is a big tangled fan which was adorable.Â
we met danielle panabaker and were kind of sarcastic shits but to be fair it was all meant in kindness and she probably hates us now. also we asked by sky high and if we'd ever get a sequel ? sky grad school? sky day care?Â
other general highlights include:
 friday's rotten tomatoes panel,, which included the chance to get up on the big screen by tweeting with their hashtag and i may have gone a bit twitter crazy, but you guys have seen my liveblogging tv shows did you honestly expect anything less of me?? (bonus i got free movie tickets, because i made it up there so many times so guess who is seeing guardians of the galaxy 2 this weekend!)
 i did five professional cosplay photoshoots, and since you are here on my cosplay blog i know you are all excited for those !! (or well i am oops)
the mcdonalds at the convention center running out of mcnuggets and fries and basically everything, like i was lucky i got a soda by the end of the day because this place was so packed !! even tho like 20 min after i sat down to eat they apparently got more mcnuggets ??(note to self next time: pack a lunch)
drinking at the hyatt bar saturday night and all the fun that came with that! Â
honestly just ?? surviving three days with only a minor cause of the con plague and a handful of bruises (mostly from falling while on skates)
last but not least, just shout out to everyone i met up with at the con there is too many people to tag! you are all amazing!Â

so yesterday i went to indiana comic con and it was, as the kids would say, #dope
last min i was convinced to put together a jessica drew spider-woman cosplay that i had just sitting around for ages and honestly it turned out pretty cool in my opinion - and seeing as we got stopped for photos âa lotâ ?? that must be a sign of something good
i got to hang out with two amazing cosplayers - cece, the adorable spider gwen you see up there, and joar, aka moon-moon
originally i was given a free ticket to the con on the condition that i would help with the costume contest, however - the friend that was running the costume contest ended up not needing me last min so i was sort of ?? free to do whatever i wanted which was mostly hang about and look cool and get my photo taken
we got stopped by a bunch of people, a lot of spider man cosplayers but just a lot of other people in general and that was really cool because neither of us expected that (jessica drew isnt the most popular of the spiders, especially in this outfit and spider gwens are usually super common)Â
though really joar as moon knight was the most popular of all of us, haha
we actually didnt end up going to any panels and really only walked the show floor once, without actually buying things because everyone was broke
but it was a really fun day to just hang out with fellow cosplayers and let me inner nerd free
honestly it was just like a preview for how awesome c2e2 is going to be next weekend, and im already hyped, now to just make it through the next four days of work

so i wasnât actually able to get a real shoot of my Nyssa in this weekend, but friends took a few phone shots, and i have to say that i am pleased with his this turned out in the end, not bad for a very rushed cosplay (now to find a time to shoot it for real)
normally i split these posts up by the two days of the con, but basically this was all so amazing it needs to be spammed in one big post, so here we go
this con was a whole lot of standing in lines, so like nothing but lines for the vast majority of it, but every not in line minute was so worth itÂ
katrina law was the highlight of the con, with caity lotz as a close second
but really when made it the best most of all were the two amazing girls i got to hang out with Mika ( @geeky-mikaboo ) and CeCe (who doesnât have tumblr)
the rest of all that happened is under the cut because im about to get long
i wore my gotham!selina kyle cosplay on saturday and it was really fun and great and a lot of people did gotham because it was a dc con but i also got a lot of compliments on it which was hella nice
people kept thinking for photo ops that i was there to meet gotham actors when i wasnât but like?? i dont blame them so
on sunday i wore my nyssa al ghul cosplay, with my friend cece matching me as sara and we got stopped for a whole bunch of pictures, and did some shippy stuff and at one point i mourned over her dead body and it was great
âstephen amellâ literally being the punchline to everything that goes wrong ever and became the inside joke of our group, any time anything went wrong from long lines to the brief power outage to a car just blasting music, it was his fault
other inside jokes of the weekend include the âfiresomeâ and sorting male celebs based on how âdaddyâ they were and the gay (tm) and âhow hung is ray palmerâ
met / saw / nearly touched a whole bunch of celebs but some celeb highlights include
getting to see chloe bennet (while as moral support for Mika) and i told her she was basically the only reason iâd ever catch up on aos again and in return SHE GAVE US HUGS it was great
while we were waiting in line to meet caity, neal mcdonugh walked like right past me, like arms length away, like i could have reached out and touched him if i had wanted to but i was just kinda standing there going holy shit (anyways he went and tried to scare caity and it was amazing)
michael rooker also walked right in front of me but i didnt recognize him at all??
and of course got to give two celebs their own sections to scream about
caity lotz was amazing, and i got this photo op with her and we look so fucking cute wow profile pic forever, like i cannot believe. when to her table for her autograph and basically gushed over how much much i love sara and she was so nice about it
also at the legends panel i asked her about how to become the next historical figure sara makes out with and that got me a laugh
katrina law was my sunday celeb and honestly what away to end the con. she is the sweetest everÂ
(and sheâs so pretty in real life, like my tiny gay self could not handle being in such close proximity to her, i love girls so much)
when we went to do our photo op, i didnt know how to hold a bow correctly, so she adjusted my positioning and she touched me and it was great and we look so badass
during the photo op she complimented my cosplay and then again at her autograph table, where she complimented both me and cece (my sara) and just she was so great
also she said âhey girlfriendâ to cece while we were standing in line and it about killed us
WE GOT A AT TABLE PHOTO WITH HER and then after the photo SHE HUGGED ME
basically sheâs great and im gay and this is fine this is FINE
as far as panels go i ended up going to :

katrina says her fave scene to film was the milkshake scene with laurel&nyssa
the actress who plays felicityâs mom (who i dont remember), was the only one who remembered an old line and it was âpin the junk on the hunkâ and thats so same
KC talked about how the wedding dress was her fave part of the crossover
according KC a black canary/black siren show down would be âvery loudâ
someone asked my question which was âis a talia vs nyssa showdown going to happenâ and katrina gave my like ideal answer which was âi think my sister needs a beat down right now because sheâs messing with my husbandâ and thats just so !! everything to me!!
also according to katrina: âthereâs no divorce in the league of assassinsâ
basically i just screamed every time katrina answered a questionÂ
the legends of tomorrow (+ robbie amell panel), in which i asked a question, so basically was freaking out the whole time but some highlights there are
Asked Caity the "how does one become the next girl sara makes out with while time travelingâ question and she said to just tweet at the writersÂ
Mika asked about how she felt about being a role model for girls and honestly Caity is just so great wow that was great
Neal Mc-"Donut" is really nice and pure in real life so I feel bad for hating Darhk so much but like ?? At the same time ??
Everyone kept pulling the receipts on Robbie "the lesser" Amell's old movies (though to be fair he brought up Scooby Doo himself)
Caity says she enjoys making out with people on set
honestly don't remember a thing Brandon said but he was sitting up there and very attractive soooo
ended up missing the SHIELD panel because we were in line to meet Caity a second time but it was worth it okay no loss
basically as far as celebs go, this con was so hype for me !! idk how any con can provide me with better celebs to meet, but like?? good luck to them
indiana comic con is next, but with how con hype i am right now that seems too far away
i almost didntâ end up going to this con, the person i was gonna go with canceled last min. my head was killing me so wearing a wig was not an option and that left me stuck on what i was gonna cosplay??
but a friend convinced me last min - so i decided to pull my miss america cosplay out of the boxes to match my friend who was captain america
the con itself wasnt very exciting, very small, no events going on
but i got a beautiful story about ghost sex a lollipop, an art card, and a few cool photos of me as miss america (which i will be posting later) so??
kinda of a successful con?
and i saw logan afterward in a theater with HEATED SEATS so thats a plus !!!
then today was, comic con barrington
library comic cons are so small but also so cute, like the enthusiasm of the people that come to these things
my cosplay group got to put on the costume contest which meant that i got to be a judge which was so amazing like?? idk man it was just very fun!
the kids in the kids costume contest were so cute like
children are so great??
also it was a really good time to test out my sara lance / black canary cosplay which im going to be wearing when i meet caity lotz at hvff at the end of the month
also my friend got body painted to be the flash
and i talked to the body painter and she wants to paint a girl as harley quinn at some point and ?? i gave her my contact info so that might be a thing that happens in the near future??Â
idk man
this was fun
this was a fun weekend of small cons
now to wait until the next big one, hvff at the end of the month!
