I feel like asthma isn’t really talked about a lot in the physically disabled community, and that really sucks :(

a lot of people think it’s just something that affects kids and that “oh you’re just out of shape! once you exercise more it’ll go away or get more manageable!”, and I HATE that because it’s more the inverse. I’ve always had pretty weak stamina, but as I got older I realized it wasn’t just that, and after a pretty bad episode of covid last year, I realized I was asthmatic. and ever since then it’s only gotten worse; I WISH I could exercise more, but it gets so bad some days I feel like I can’t take a proper breath even with an inhaler. and the side effects of my dpi give me a constant sore throat and cough, so that just adds on to the struggle to breathe properly.

so shoutout to all my asthmatic folks out there. I hope you get the respect and accommodations you deserve.
