I feel like you can get a more interesting read out of the Doctor and Rose being unhealthy. The whole point of Doomsday is that they're so horrifically sewn together that it literally requires an apocalypse, a billion daleks, a billion cybermen, a different universe, and Hell itself to finally separate them. Otherwise yeah they would have self destructed. The tenth doctors entire identity is owed to Rose. The first time he kissed Rose he straight up DIED. The Moment takes her form when the Doctor is about to commit a double genocide. That is abnormal

the doctor tries to take them to a concert in 1970s england, ends up in 1870s scotland instead. they are immediately arrested by queen victoria. there's an old manor that has been secretly overrun by monks. the christian type but also they inexplicably know martial arts and their bright orange robes are more the buddhist type. rose and the doctor are illegally down bad for one another and will have a point of contact if they are in the same room. there's a werewolf. an alien werewolf. it's made of 2000's CGI and dreams. the doctor grabs rose by the waist to get her away from the werewolf. they share a very intimate hug for no discernable reason. the doctor licks a wall. they defeat the werewolf with the power of the moon and colonialism. queen victoria knights them before banishing them from the country. she founds the institute that will one day cause their separation.
