What are Rock pigeons (Columba livia doves) good for?
Pigeons are fascinating to watch. Their courting behavior is quite entertaining. Their affectionate attention to their mate is sweet and romantic. Pigeons bring life to cities. Often, pigeons are the only form of life in otherwise bleak urban landscapes. Pigeons provide stress relief. Feeding pigeons is well recognized by the medical community as a good means of relaxation. Pigeons provide good company. Many senior citizens enjoy spending time with pigeons. Children are often enamored with these friendly birds. Pigeons are companion animals.
Anyone who has pigeons as pets will attest to their loyalty and affection. They make excellent friends. Pigeons clean up our waste. Pigeons eat food we dispose of as litter. Pigeons eat weed seeds. Pigeons primarily eat seeds, and some of their favorites are weed seeds. Pigeons provide a good role model for society.
The traditional doves of love and peace, pigeons mate for life and set a good example for people by the way they care for their mate and their young, share feeding areas, and live peacefully with each other. Pigeons provide ambiance. What would Trafalgar Square, Venice, Vatican Square, or Paris be like without pigeons? Pigeons provide nourishment.
Endangered Peregrine Falcons, for example, would not be staging a comeback without the pigeon as their prey base. Pigeons are benign residents. They do not compete with indigenous animals for food or shelter. And, contrary to popular belief, cases of pigeon diseases spread to humans are extremely rare and, in most areas, like Arizona, are nonexistent. Pigeons have religious significance. Common city pigeons are actually European Rock Doves. They are the biblical dove of love and peace. They helped honor the birth of Christ. They are the same birds as the pigeon that Noah released, which returned with the olive branch to signify the end of the Great Flood. Nearly all religions revere pigeons as holy birds. Pigeons are mans oldest domesticated bird. New evidence shows that pigeons have been domesticated for more than twelve millennia. Pigeons save lives.
To this day, pigeons deliver lifesaving medications and provide valuable messenger service in remote areas, as they have for thousands of years.

What is the name of these fascinating red bugs in Thailand?
Hi, my name is Probergrothius nigricornis, but you can call me Kapok or Red bug, but could you have guessed that? I live in the north of Thailand in Chiang Mai, and I like to climb on garden walls with my friends. We are a family of true bugs with more than 300 different species. So I have a lot of nieces and nephews. They started giving us the name Kapok bugs because we originally lived on Kapok trees. These are trees that have cotton-like fluffs and we love to eat that. The old name of Ho Chi Ming City, Saigon is named after this kapok tree, Vietnamese called it'Bong gon'. So you see we are real international bugs like Spider-man in the movies. They say some farmers don't really like us because we can attack Kapok trees like a pest and yes sometimes we are not so clean as the others. But hey every big family sometimes has a small problem with the neighbors! Adult red bugs in the kapok tree have a small red head, its body reddish yellow and there is black on the upper body and legs. Below our body is a white color that intersects with red and has long legs. We are about 2 centimeters in length and are also known as Man-face bugs. Can you see why? Here in Thailand, we prefer the food on Kapok trees which are all around Chiang Mai. There are clumps of cotton-like fluff hanging down on their branches and I and my brothers suck the sap from the seed pods. That is where the name ‘Cotton Stainers‘ comes from as they leave a lasting yellow-brownish stain on the crops. They say we damage many fruit trees too like mango. But who would not want a sweet dessert after dinner with all my friends and family?
Beautiful Relaxing Music for Stress Relief [Meditation Music 1]
Listening to music can have a tremendously relaxing effect on our minds and bodies, especially slow, quiet classical music. This type of music can have a beneficial effect on our physiological functions, slowing the pulse and heart rate, lowering blood pressure, and decreasing the levels of stress hormones. A slower tempo can quiet your mind and relax your muscles, making you feel soothed while releasing the stress of the day. Music is effective for relaxation and stress management.
It can help you relax and reduce anxiety. In fact, music has been scientifically shown time and time again to calm the autonomic nervous system, the endocrine, and psychological stress response. Classical music and sounds of nature seem to be particularly effective.
