I think I've seen this somewhere before...
Into the wild of the night, Hekate emerges once again, to preside on Her throne as the Goddess of the Witches, the Underworld, of Death and Rebirth.
Taunting Gravity #4, Bozeman, Montana, by Larry Blackwood
“Crows and ravens are both revered and reviled. They are one of the few avian species to thrive in the presence of man, using intelligence and adaptability to survive. Their feats of sometimes ruthless ingenuity, along with their trickster traits in the pursuit of their goals are nearly unprecedented in the animal world. It is perhaps because these traits remind us uncomfortably of ourselves at times that crows and ravens have earned a significant place in art, literature, and religion over the millennia.”

Why are the Crossroads Holy, and What Does that Mean for Hekate?
There’s a lot of things we often just accept within spirituality, and one of those things is that the crossroads are a sacred place. But why?
Crossroads are liminal spaces, meaning they are in between. All in between places are sacred, but what makes crossroads special is that they are in between two or more paths. Meaning that they literally represent endless possibility and the ability to change outcomes and paths, both physical and spiritual. So, crossroads become the place where anything is possible, where the traveler (both physical and spiritual) can choose their own adventure so to speak.
So what does this mean for spirituality? It means that crossroads are the space with the potential for change. When we work or pray at the crossroads, we harness their energy of transformation, one thing becoming another, choosing our own paths, and manifesting new outcomes. Crossroads allow us to tap into liminal energy not to only contact spirits, or deities, or add power to spells, but to call on the very powers of change, chance, and choice and call on it to manifest what we need or want.
What does this mean for Hekate? It means that She is not just the goddess of physical roadways, but that She watches over transformation, change, chance, and whatever path we choose to take in life. In many traditions, crossroad deities are prayed to and given offerings before anyone else. This is because those deities are guardians of both physical and spiritual pathways. No choice or direction taken happens without them. So this means that Hekate watches over all things that happen. Because the crossroads are both a representation of physical and spiritual change. Every metamorphosis, every new direction we take, that is the working of Hekate. So She is by no means a minor goddess. Hesiod saying that Hekate is the goddess that Zeus honors above all others is representative of this truth. She watches over the three realms just as She watches over the three ways. So pray to Hekate for all changes and transformations, because She can show you the right path on the spiritual and physical crossroads. In Her role as the Cosmic World Soul, as goddess of death and of childbirth, She watches over our souls before and after life. And in Her role as the goddess of the crossroads, She watches over us in life.
Hail Hekate Enodia, goddess of the ways! May She guide us, watch over us, and transform us!

🌿 B𝕒𝕟𝕖𝕗𝕦𝕝 H𝕖𝕣𝕓𝕤 🌿 When learning about herbs, it’s always good to have a basic knowledge of the baneful herbs around, especially if you like to or have started to forage for your own herbs.
You might never work with them, but it’s still good to know what poisonous herbs look like so your can avoid them and keep safe. Even touching herbs like these with your skin can be enough to kill.
Not all Witches work with toxic herbs like these, it’s a personal choice, but if you want to, it’s essential you do your research (and a lot of it) first.
Tobacco is a good substitute for any baneful herb.
Do you work with baneful herbs?

I feel her exasperation. I think we’re all collectively exhausted by bible thumpers trying to dictate policy, despite the enormous and apparent repercussions of said policy.
The Witch of ‘Too Much’
Were you ever ‘too much’?
Witches usually are- we grow up being ‘too much’. You saw too much, you asked too much, you knew too much. You read too much in school and you talked too much in class. When you got home, you loved too many things; stray cats, birds with broken wings, and sickly houseplants at the back of the grocery store. You had too many ratty books 'rescued’ from the libraries burn pile, and your bedroom had too much junk; rocks, seashells, bits of paper, half-finished crafts….sound familiar?
You were probably punished for your too much. You learned to push it down, to cover it up and pretend to walk with your eyes forward and your brain empty like everyone else. You knew there was more, knew that someone or something out there could help you find more, but you were stuck with 'enough’.
But over the years, your 'too much’ began sprouting through the cracks, didn’t it? Like dandelions defying the toxic concrete above them, your true self breaks through into the sunlight again and again. And just like a dandelion, I promise that each time you’re free, you brighten everything around you. Sometimes you draw attention to a flaw in the system, even while showing how that flaw doesn’t have to be one at all. Other times, your’s are the actions that say, 'This is okay! This is exciting, look, I’m doing it!’
In my personal opinion, that’s what makes a 'natural witch’. That’s the origin of the crooked path. The dirt trail that deviates from the main road, and those who dare to walk it, are where we find real magic. There’s power in repetition, yes. In tradition, and following the steps of those before you. But there’s also power in seeking, in trying and searching and finding until you’re laying there absolutely exhausted, but satisfied at last with what you found.
Real witches are an endangered species. No one minds the armchair wizard, who collects secret tomes but has never done a single ritual. They’re tame. They’re safe. But the witches who walk with open eyes and pointing fingers, well, those are nuisances. They demand change, and work both mundanely and magically for it. They’re loud, they’re brash, they’re WEIRD…
…they’re 'too much’.
And thank all the Gods for them.
HURRAYA!
It was after many years of searching for my truth in spirituality, that I truly learned to appreciate the beauty and magic in the world.
