"— Stefan is dead."

                                      { She had seen it coming, everyone had. }

     It was in his eyes every time he saw Damon and Elena hold hands, or share an intimate look.  Stefan couldn’t stand the pain of her being in love with someone else, especially his own brother. It didn’t help that every time he closed his eyes it felt like he was drowning, sinking deeper and deeper, not enough oxygen in the world to fill his water clogged lungs.  After a long and lonely battle, he gave himself back to the ripper, but this time not even selfless little Elena could pull him back.  Without his humanity he was reckless and unstoppable.  It had only been a matter of time before he got himself in trouble with the wrong people.

                         { Yet Katherine had been expecting something different. }

     An ache in her heart for the man she once loved, maybe even a few tears. But now that the words had finally been spoken, she was left with only an ice cold numb feeling. Her eyes locked on to the face that mirrored her own. It’s your fault.  The thought echoed in her mind. If she had just died when her parents’ car went off the bridge like she was supposed to, none of this would have ever happened. Katherine would have found Stefan, who had never fallen in love with her less attractive doppelganger, and they would have lived happily ever after.

                          { But that was gone now, he was gone. Because of her. }

     She had half a mind to end her pathetic little life right there, and maybe if she had still been a vampire, she would have. Instead she pressed her lips into a thin line and folded her arms against her chest. Tonight she would go back to the clock tower and this time, there was no Stefan to catch her when she fell.  She was only speeding up the inevitable. There was no cure for old age, and she would be damned if she didn’t die on her terms. The only thing she cared about now that Stefan was gone was Nadia, but she had made it perfectly clear she wanted nothing to do with her anymore

PLOT:

Imagine if you could take your favorite characters all the way back to the start. If you could ignore that one plot device, or if you could stop your character from doing that really stupid thing. Imagine if we took them back to the start.

The Salvatore brothers have just arrived in the town of Mystic Falls, where nothing bad ever happens. Everyone is happily human and living their lives, until Vicki Donovan is attacked by an animal in the woods.

It’s time to go back to the start.

Personality: She’s a firecracker. Lies flow off of her tongue with ease, and it isn’t hard for her to wrap someone around her finger. She gets her charm from her father and her powers of manipulation from her mother. Her heart belongs to the sea and she loves her time on the Jolly Rodger more than anything else in the world.

Special Talents: Killian taught her how to sail when she was fourteen years old.

Who they like better: She’s a daddy’s girl at heart but she still has a soft spot for her mother.

Who they take after more: Katherine 

Personal Head canon: She always begged her parents for a pet but they didn’t think it was right to keep an animal on a ship. When she was fifteen they finally gave in and got her a dog named bones, and they have been inseparable ever since.
