(Therrre we go.  The giant moonstone.  I went based on the game's design rather than the anime's.)

OOC: (I don't know if it's clear or not but this is supposed to be a cave. I dunno if fantasy-esque environments were okay and I forgot to ask. Ah well, I had fun making it either way. If it doesn't count I'll gladly whip up another one for you guys!)

the area smelt faintly of blood from the many battles that had taken place there for the past week, the trees scratched and bruised. 

as one came closer there was rubble all over the ground ,most charred and blackened from flames, with broken weapons in the mix along with everyday items.

then the smells of rotting flesh filled the air as along with the usual Rubble  there were bodies of pokemon who were slain as well as broken relic items which indicated that items were stolen

these were the ruins of the once prosperous Serpent Poinsettia Kingdom

First time trying to draw a sunset, ahahaha… Part of a picture I drew yesterday. I was going to do just the background but then added a character. Here’s just the background.

About time I should have done the place reference where my characters lives. The rocks looks so horrible here... Maybe there still are a few good things here but... yeah. You can critique this lame picture here or in my pokemon blog.))

((For the new challenge, is it totally forbidden to add characters? Because I would like to draw a decadent laboratory and I've thought of adding some magnemites and magnetons "melting" a bit with the environment))

The Challenge: Scenery, part one!

For Artists: Draw a location of your choosing (indoors, outdoors, whatever) withOUT any characters in it. For example, a forest with a lot of trees and bushes and stuff but no animals or anything else. Pick something challenging, not just an empty room or the sky. Some ideas: a bedroom, a cave, a forest, a mountain, a beach! Try to put in as much detail as possible!

For Writers: Write about a location (as described above) without using any character perspective. Write just about the place and nothing else; describe what it looks like, what it feels like, smells like, sounds like, etc. Make us feel like we're there! Find a good balance in the amount of description you're using; not too much and not too little. Keep us interested!

Guidelines:

Submit your finished piece to us so that we may post it under your own unique tag! This tag will be used to help you follow your progress throughout the challenges.

All work here is up for critique, and we recommend that you be open for constructive criticism because it’s a great way to improve! But if you’re really against the idea of having your work critiqued, let us know in your submission so we can keep it off limits.

If you’d like to critique something, feel free! Submit it in! As long as it’s civil and constructive, we’ll post it up and the original poster and others may use it to help improve. If it’s hurtful or generally not very helpful, we will be unable to post it.

And most importantly, have fun and do your very best! This isn’t a competition, this is for you!
