   Geist knew the smell of money. He learnt that there are people who just look and smell like money when they come from a background, like this weird dweeb-like Gothitelle. He flung his backpack (currently carrying all of his belongings) onto his back and approached the Gothitelle.  He had to quickly think of a way to scam some cash outta this nerd. Time to improvise.

“Y’know, you have the look of a man with no friends, are you a lone wolf on purpose oooooor       are you a dweeb?”

Cesare was (as he often was after school) hanging around doing absolutley nothing productive. Unless texting your buddy about the wrestling tournament on TV last night was productive. Then maybe.

It took him a minute to notice the tiny pumpkin man lurking nearby. It was kinda weird. He didn't look like a freshman, but he was so short. Was he like, out of high school? Huh. He really did feel bad for short guys. And dang this guy's hair was greasy looking........ However, when the pumpkin implied he was a dweeb with no friends, he quickly took back in all of his pity.

"Um, excuse you? I'm texting one of them right now. I think /you're/ the dweeb with no friends. I mean just look at you, man. That is just sad. So, so sad."

Baptiste waited for the Flaaffy to, uh, collect his thoughts, they figured.

“You think the name’s suiting, huh? Ah, well, it’s a family name.”

they took a moment to adjust their tie.

“…I understand what you mean. I can’t really become fully awake without it…Then again, I’m not sure if caffeine actually has a real effect on me. What do they call that, placebo or something? I don’t know.”

They had noticed Dewey’s facial expression after what he had said about needing coffee, though…

“What, you think you can’t use the word dead around me? It’s honestly no big deal, alright? I’ve been dead long enough that it’s not a sensitive subject anymore. ….Anyway, I’ve gotta pick up my kid after this. She’s only six, so uh, she can’t really drive herself, you know?”

He made a quoting gesture with his free hand

“But nah, we can stop at any time.”

Was he so sure about that? The last time he went a day without coffee, he almost bit the head off a doll. Dewey without coffee was…not a pleasant sight. When they started talking about how they got over their own death, he lowered his eyes slightly… This conversation was a bit grim.

BUT WHAT WAS THAT??? A mention of a KID? THEY WERE A PARENT? The sad look on the sheeps face disappeared. Kids were RAD

“YOU HAVE A DAUGHTER?? HOW CUTE; whats her name??”

"Well, I mean. I guess it is an addiction, actually. Not that I really care too much. It's not like we're gonna become impaired, or get sick from it or anything, yeah?"

They shrugged. "I've got some time, though. I can stay a little while longer."

They watched Dewey's face as he asked about their kid. Was he really that excited about learning about her?? Oh man. There was nothing else that Baptiste loved to talk about more than how great their daughter was.

Their eyes lit up uncharacteristically as they shoved their hand into their pocket to reach for something, before handing it to the sheep.

It was a photo.

"This is Josephine," they said. "She just goes by Josie, though. She started first grade back in the beginning of September. She's a really sweet kid, you know? She likes Disney movies and rabbits and she does pretty well in school! ...Well, that's what her teacher told me. She's always so upbeat about everything. And she's also got my eyes."

they put their hands on their cheeks. "I could not be more proud, really..." the Ghost trailed off.
