Welcome Post (THIS BLOG IS MOSTLY ABANDONED)
You may have heard of this concept before- a Pokemon world where all the creatures are desserts called Pokesweets. That’s because somebody else (not me) made a ROM hack fan game called Pokemon Sweet that uses that exact premise.
In my time knowing about this game, I’ve seen complaints that the designs within it are sometimes poorly executed or uncreative. I’m inclined to agree with that. I’m not saying Pokemon Sweet is bad though! I think they came up with something incredibly creative, but in between programming the game, redesigning the world and writing a new story, some of the character designing fell to the wayside.
But character designing is my passion and my specialty! And granted, not all of these are gonna be winners because transferring some Pokemon into desserts is going to be extremely challenging and I’m kind of a novice at pixel art but this is purely for fun! I don’t plan on making my own game (as of right now), claiming the concepts as my own (other than these specific iterations of the characters and artwork) or taking credit for the ideas brought forth in Pokemon Sweet, though someday I hope to make a fully complete Pokedex of some kind.
i’m going in order of the Pokedex, but I’m stopping at Gen 5. The reason for this is there aren’t any official sprites for Pokemon beyond that and there would be a style discrepancy otherwise. I could probably be convinced to do them if there are enough requests for them but for now I’m sticking with 1-5. Also, I’m open to suggestions for Pokesweet theming and names!
Also, if the original makers of Pokemon Sweet want me to stop, I absolutely will. This is just meant to be a fun passion project but if they feel I’m encroaching on their ideas too much I’ll stop.
