The marina town of Southampton plays host to various sights and activities. Mixing culture with modern day adrenaline activities, Southampton is the ideal place to come for a hen weekend.
For those hens who are looking for both beauty and relaxation you should check out the Mottisfont Abbey – a medieval priory with stunning walled gardens. The gardens play host to 300 varieties of roses, which is perfect for girls with green fingers. There is also an art exhibition in the Abbey which is open to members of the public.
Ocean Village is another attraction in Southampton that should not be missed! This busy and lively marina offers fine dining and shopping, great for any groups of hens who are looking for unique finds in Southampton! Ocean Village is a perfect location in the summer as you will be able to spot many marvellous private yachts and cruise ships!
If you are looking for something with a little higher adrenaline and a little less relaxing, how about trying out a taster session at Southampton’s Alpine Centre (www.southampton-alpine-centre.co.uk). Here you will be able to take part in skiing, snowblading and snowboarding taster sessions, all of which are reasonably priced. For those girls who are experienced at snow sports, the alpine centre even has booster lessons with fully trained instructors, who will be able to teach you a trick or two! The alpine décor will even make you forget that you are in Southampton!
Southampton boasts an array of India, Chinese and Thai restaurants, some of which score the highest rankings in tripadvisors restaurant guide. These can be found all around Southampton, many of which are open to hosting private parties. If you are after something more traditional you should definitely try Dock O The Bay (www.dockothebay.co.uk) which offers a menu ranging from English classics as well as Italian and French cuisine. The menu emphasises a home cooked and wholesome style to cooking, with a good wine list to go alongside! This marina themed restaurant even offers a traditional Sunday lunch menu, which is served by hospitable and friendly staff!
Hen parties are all about the nightlife, and where better to come than Southampton which offers hundred of fun and exciting venues! Reflex Bar is an 80’s themed club, with a disco floor and ‘giant’ cocktails, the perfect place to come after one of Polestars 80s dance classes! Reflex Southampton offers private booths for large groups of hens so why not pull out that Ra-Ra skirt and make a booking with Reflex?
The Orange Rooms are also a fun and exciting place to end your hen night! The Orange Rooms are an eatery, party bar and cocktail lounge, so really everything you want is under one roof! Every weekend the lounge plays host to different events; in the past the DJ box has seen the likes of Groove Armada, Scratch Perverts, Mr Scruff and Passion Pit. Check in advance to see what DJs will be playing on the night of your hen party! Orange Rooms also offer private booths which can be booked through their website – www.orangerooms.co.uk. Here you can also check out their fabulous cocktail menu, which follows nicely after one of Polestars cocktail making parties in Southampton!
Hen Party of The Week
Our Fabulous Liverpool teacher took Debbie Hales's Pole Dancing Hen Party in the Slug and Lettuce this weekend, where all of the girls had an amazing time, and learnt some interesting new tricks!
If you would like to take place in one of our Pole Dancing Parties or classes call the office on 020 7274 4865 where we can discuss all arrangments with you!
Well Done Debbie and friends!
Stress Free Maid of Honour Duties
So your best friend has just been proposed to and you can’t wait to go shopping for dresses, and you are debating whether or not hats do actually suit you, when she asks you to be maid of honour. On first instant, this is a real compliment and you are excited, until the responsibilities kick in. Not only are you worried if hats suit you, but now you are sitting in the changing room of House of Fraiser with your best friends soon-to-be Mother-in-law and panicking if hats suit her! And then you are expected to help with choosing flowers, even though you have terrible hay fever! Ahhhhh!
There really couldn’t be anything more stressful! So why not let Polestars take off some of this stress by coming up with some hen party ideas for you? At Polestars we offer some fabulous hen party activities and our staff make organising hen parties as easy and as stress-free as possible!
Some of our hen party ideas include dance parties such as Burlesque dance classes, where we suggest that you get dressed up and continue your night in a Burlesque theme. If a themed hen night is something you are interested in why not try everybody’s favourite 80’s dance party, where again we suggest you get dressed all 80’s and we will even suggest some great 80’s themed bars/clubs that are in your area!
If dance classes are not what you are after, but heavy drinking is, why not try one of our fabulous cocktail making hen parties! We offer these in most of the cities we work in, and they are all hosted in fabulous cocktail bars where you can spend the rest of the hen night! You will get to make a perfect three cocktails each, which is a perfect start to any hen party!
We have even written some really useful city guides to help hens decide if they would like to take a trip away for a girly weekend! We have listed interesting day time activities, fantastic restaurants, as well as great places to go out! Planning a hen weekend couldn’t be easier!
If you would like to hear more about Polestars hen party ideas in your area, or somewhere you are getting away too, please feel free to call our office on 020 7274 4865 where a member of our team will be happy to help you in planning your hen party!
Good Luck to all of the maid of honours out there – but feel less stressed as Polestars are here to help!
Torquay City Guide
Torquay is becoming increasingly popular with hen parties in recent years. Torquay offers both a quite getaway as well as various activities to see the more adventurous hens through the weekend! Polestars offer all of our dance hen parties in Torquay and have some exciting new activities coming up in Torquay in the near future!
There is no wonder that Torquay has been renamed the English Riviera, with its quaint features, superb beaches and coastline, along with Torquay’s unique and fabulous eateries. This is no truer than in the Bay Brassiere Restaurant at the Riviera International Centre, which serves food all day. The Bay Brassiere plays host to stunning views of Torbay beach because of its floor to ceiling glass walls. This truly is the perfect place to dine during your stay in Torquay. Check out the Bay Brassiere menu on their website – www.baybrassiere.co.uk – where they also have their alternative Sunday lunch menu!
Whilst in Torquay you cannot miss trying some locally caught produce at No.7 Fish Bistro. This unpretentious restaurant flaunts a delicious, home cooking style. To see what they have to offer see their website on www.no7-fish.com. This will follow an Alpha Divers course nicely – where you might be able to spot your dinner for the night! Alpha Diving (www.alphadivers.co.uk) courses offer a fairly priced introduction to sub-aqua and scuba diving, which is great for all girls wanting to try something new! Stretching across the beaches of Torquay you will be sure to spot thousands of surfers, either boarding or kiting. This is an excellent activity for energetic hens! Tuitions are available from www.holidaytorbay.co.uk/htsurf.html.
For those hens who are feeling less adventurous but are looking to do a spot of site seeing why not try the ‘Golden Hind’ – Sir Francis Drake’s ship which circumnavigated the world between 1577-1589, making discoveries and bringing new treasures home! You can find out more at www.goldenhind.co.uk. For other sights be sure to check out the Kent Caverns, which often play host to plays. You can be shown around these pieces of natural history by excellent tour guides. There is even a café in the caverns, a unique and pleasant place to spend lunch!
