Quite a while ago, back in February, I participated in SS Endurance week! For those who don't know, real quick, SS Endurance is the ship name for Lara/Sam from the Tomb Raider franchise. One of the prompts was "Sam and Lara in another franchise". Of course, being a fan of CONTROL made the choice obvious, and since I love Pope Mom AU too, this came about!

This is a piece I made based on @lexiholic826 's absolutely incredible 'What if Emily Pope had two moms?' fic Never Gonna Give You Up , featuring Karen (left), Shelia (right), and their dog Virgil!!!

If you haven't read this fic I literally cannot recommend it enough, it's so much fun, and filled with so much love!!! Karen and Shelia are everything!!!

We're starting something new: a miniseries! It won't be nearly as long as the main fic, but trust it'll be just as fun!

Super Virgil was a one off comment that turned into, well, a good few chapters of fic! So far it's just the first chapter, but as the year goes on there will be at least one or two more uploaded! Plus, stay on the lookout for more Pope Mom content! We ain't done with this AU yet!

My lovely friend and one of my partners in Pope Mom AU @lostinthewoodsomewhere had an idea about Jesse being able to buy clothes after so many years on the run and trapped in the bureau. And, well, I had to write it!

Last December, I wrote a fic that was extremely personal to me. Aptly titled "The Polar Express", it tells of Emily continuing a Christmas tradition with her moms.

Now while this was obviously very fun and lighthearted, it was bittersweet for me. As many of you know, my beloved grandmother passed away in 2024 from Melanoma, an incurable skin cancer. She fought it for a full decade before it took her life at 78 years old. She was a trooper the whole time.

During Christmastime, me, her, and my grandpa would watch The Polar Express. For as long as I can remember, id watch it every single year with them. At first it was simply watching the movie. Then as I grew older, we began making cookies and hot chocolate. Eventually it turned into me spending the entire day at their house, eating hoagies and hanging out. Then we'd make the cookies, put the movie on, take our picture in front of the frame of the train, my grandpa would make hot chocolate (homemade!!), and we'd have perfect nights.

I'll always treasure those times. 2024 was the only year I did not watch the movie. It was too soon, it hurt too bad. Last year, a friend convinced me to watch it with them and their group. To say I sobbed is an understatement. It was nice to watch it again, but painful at the same time. I don't regret it though. And I had my grandma right there with me too; the little jar of ashes.

Writing this fic was... Healing, in a way. Being able to share my tradition with others has been wonderful, and writing it for the Pope Mom AU was nothing short of peaceful. It'll always hurt, of course, but with this fic it hurt just a little less.

She's from Oklahoma!!!! I love these sketches SO much! I laugh about them daily still lmao. Especially with how intrigued Jesse is in that second one!

Fun fact! I make little icons of various franchises and media! They're extremely fun to make and I always have a blast. I mentioned in the discord, what if there was a pope mom icon? And, well, Woods came through!

Right after seeing this beautiful piece, I quickly put together a little icon!

This is entirely random, but after replaying Unpacking, I imagined the story as Karen and Sheila's. From the childhood level to the ending where they're preparing for a baby. It's all so perfect!

Something I got into for a bit was Animal Crossing x Pope Mom headcanons! Sheila and Emily have played every American release since the first game came out. They always had fun and bonded over playing. However, when New Horizons came out, Emily was in lockdown. Sheila still bought a switch just for the game and set up Emily's account first. She also set up Emily's tent in game so she could send her letters, hoping her daughter would read them someday.

Karen has no clue how the game works, let alone video games in general. But she often finds herself watching her wife and daughter play the game together with a smile. When New Horizons comes out, she usually doodles cute art on the bulletin board for their town.

A short one, but: Sheila has fallen asleep on the couch with the game still running. She loves listening to the comforting music and natural sounds of the game.

Emily LOVES catching the bugs and fish, collecting fossils, etc. She adores the information of it all. She also has to help Sheila catch the tarantulas and scorpions because Sheila is terrified of them. (based on a true story!)

Both Sheila and Emily often leave gifts and letters for the other every time they play. Also, Sheila has a huge garden while Emily has a huge flower field. If one of them didn't play that day, the other goes on to make sure their plants are taken care of.

Sheila's favorite villagers on their island are: Twiggy (reminds her of Tweety Bird), Ketchup ("he's adorable!"), Tia (she loves tea), Sylvia (one of the starter villagers; doesn't have the heart to kick anyone out), and Goldie (closest in color to Virgil). Emily's are: Maple (looks closest to her stuffed bear Tungsten), Flora (she's a sucker for fashion!), Dobie (reminds her of Steven Stevens), Pierce (the other starter villager, but Emily likes him), and Bob ("he reminds me of Jesse!").
