so im a black dude shifter(we exist surprisingly, ha) and i have a discord and am on a few shifting servers and i met this guy on one of these servers. i was excited to befriend him because as much as i love my shifting sister and non binary siblings, i like connecting with other guy shifters and he and i became good friends. we both have a jjk Dr. he's shifting for Nobara and im shifting for Maki(that's wifey).
so we had been friends for a few months, everything was toasty and cool. one day we have a talk about our niche drs. i talk about one of my drs where im a sailor who falls for a mermaid and he shares with me a dr in which he's a slave owner...he says he just wants a dr like that so he can get as many slaves as he can to like 'help' them and treat them better than the other slave owners and give them education and help abolish slavery. needless to say we aren't friends anymore. im not good with confrontation so i just blocked him. i dont wanna dox the dude, but be cautious when making friends, folks.

Okay so I have a question for you all. Like genuinely, I need you to sit, maybe stand maybe walk around pondering for a while if you fancy to do so. But just please think for a second instead of scrolling.
When did we as a community start to perceive cruelty as the new norm. When has it become justifiable to completely destroy a person's happiness for the sake of traction? And most importantly, why do we feel so comfortable expressing hateful or bigoted conventions provided that a guise of anonymity exists.
Honestly when I came across this blog, I was very appalled by the lengths that people would go to tear down someone for the most redundant of reasons eg. the aesthetics of a person's blog, the way they speak or their follower count because apparently some of you anons are so miserable to the point where you'd hate on random bloggers so you can feel better about your pathetic lives! Frankly it's quite embarrassing to see if I say so myself. If you feel so pressed, journal or vent to a friend instead of unloading all of your aggressions on bloggers who have done nothing to you.
Another thing I've noticed is the sheer amount of racism, homophobia, ableism you name it concentrated on this singular blog. Frankly, I don't find it shocking but I do find it very disappointing because it proves that there are horrible people in this community and that they will act in ways so vile and disgusting it's almost incomprehensible if given the platform and opportunity to do so.
