The Straw Hats separated in chapter 513, so not quite 100 chapters ago, but it was a separation that lasted two full years real time (and eventually in-comic time too, I suppose). The effect of seeing them here isn't quite the same if you're binging these chapters today, just know it was agonizing to wait through week to week.

#blown AWAY by the realism in the lighting in this piece #it's so so so gorgeous #i love the choice of using green #it matches so well with the vibe of the piece #i also really love the expression - it makes them look so hopeless and that really meshes with the hands reaching toward them from behind #and the hands are so haunting; esp with the differences between them #it gives a sense of foreboding and wrongness that works so well #this is so gorgeous

#OHHHH man this is HAUNTING.#like obvi i don't have any context but even without any you can glean sooo much about the characters and their relationship and hardships #like the dissonance between the two of them and how they used to be a lot to each other but aren't anymore and that hug at the end showing #how much they still wanna be close and still care about each other and i'm just ;-;#(ofc i could be completely misinterpreting LMAO)#but it made me feel things #i also love the transitions between each frame and it matches so so well with the music #both rhythmically and lyrically #and ofc the art is GORGEOUS #love this smmmm

#this is SOOO PRETTY #i looove the contrast between the soft blues and greens of the top and the peace they emit #with the fire and anger and despair of the reds below #and the fire and stars separating them...it makes me think of a distance between them #(though idk the story so idk if i'm interpreting it right lmao)#but also the way that the ones up top look happy/content and the one below definitely does not adds to that sense of distance #speaking of i love the expressions #they add so much to the already gorgeous piece #love this!!
