Icarus, Aristotle, Pericles, Alexander the Great, Solon, Caligula, Claudius, Poseidon. For Poseidon write half of the nouns in Latin (you can use nominative case for all of them).
if you could go back in time and change one thing what would you do? I don’t have any huge lifelong regrets, but the first thing that comes to mind is “try out for things.” I was too scared to do sports or theater when I was a kid and my parents never forced me to, but I was painfully shy for a long time and I think some sort of team environment would have been good for me. also I should have practiced the piano more.
what was your favourite class in high school? AP European History
what would you like to be remembered for? being kind and unselfish and taking care of the people in my life. having strong convictions and fighting for them. (I gotta work to earn that)
if you could name your own city, what would you call it? I have no idea. maybe something ancient and vaguely Shakespearean, like Arviragus
how would you describe your political views? liberal/progressive as fuck. pretty straightforward young, educated, anti-war, left-leaning Democrat who supports oppressed people and doesn’t have enough ideological knowledge to associate myself with a particular school of thought, but who believes most of my peers are shamefully uninformed and/or apathetic, and that too many of the ones who are energized need to come back to earth. i.e., I think dismantling capitalism is a good idea but I’m the first to point out that in order to make any progress from here on out you have to work within the system (I don’t think mainstream America is ready to throw their support behind a literal socialist yet)
what is the craziest thing you’ve ever seen? one time in Barcelona I saw a guy wash his face and drink out of a decorative fountain in a park. it was gross. a few weeks ago a deranged bluejay was harassing my coworkers. my mother once tried to turn the wrong way onto a one-way street in lower Manhattan. I’ve seen plenty of mildly alarming shit.
what is something you dreaded doing in the last year? internship hunting, and going to bed in my dorm any night that my roommate was next door with her boyfriend
what’s the most intense dream you can remember having? last week I had a dream that I watched from a window across the street as a small child fell off the top of a tall ladder onto the sidewalk and died. then it flashed forward in time to my having to deal with the grieving parents, who turned out to be the real-life best friends of my own parents. my dreams aren’t usually that morbid, so I remembered that one.
