So happy that you loved the show! I completely agree with you about the length - if it had been 30 mins longer and included more HBW songs, it would have been perfect.
Niall really is a good live performer and great at connecting with the audience. His band is also excellent. Good vibes all around!
Also, I really appreciated the production value when I saw him in Europe. From what I can tell, it seems like it was slightly scaled down for the Aus/NZ shows (missing the big curtain, the seashell lamps and the discoball?), but that might just be a logistics issue.
Good to hear that you also got a good crowd experience. I find it really interesting how different the 1D solo audiences tend to be. My impression is also that Niall tends to attract a slightly older crowd, and less of the rabid stans.
Yes! For me it was a solid 8.5 out of ten and it could have been a ten with a handful of extra songs 😭 All I needed was some more Heartbreak Weather and Flicker (the song).
Unfortunately yes, the production was very paired down compared to the other dates. It was disappointing because I really love the set design but it’s also quite common for artists to do that for Oceania. My guess is it’s just a pain to have to transport large fragile items this far for a couple of shows.
It’s hard to articulate this but Niall’s crowd just felt the most like…normal adjacent? Like rather than being a convention for conspiracy theorists, pick me’s and/or sexual harassers rofl, it really felt like a room full of pretty chill people who just really like and follow Niall’s music. Don’t get me wrong it was obvious a lot of fans were once Directioners but if you’ve ever wondered whether not chronically online Directioners existed and where they were - they were Niall girls all along. There was something about the crowd which just felt more mature and there in a super detached, I like music way, compared to a Harry or Louis crowd (at least from my experiences). I didn’t get the sense that there’s much of a cult of personality around Niall at all, people literally just tune in for him because they like his music and that’s all they are even there for.
I did see one Narry homemade shirt though so peace and love to that individual.
Right? I saw so many like mid thirties bros just there seemingly entirely alone. One guy even had homemade Niall merch 😭 I honestly wonder how many people he’s randomly pulled in who weren’t that into the group.
Also big L to leave out Dear Patience when you’ve got that fiddle player on staff omg
