The Bastard Son And The Devil Himself is surprisingly gory, adult and well acted with pretty decent writing  for a YA show about witches. The teenagers actually make sensible choices and there’s no teen drama. Jay Lycurgo is really, really good as the main character. He’s had a relatively smallish role in Titans as Tim Drake but really shines here as Nathan. I am only 4 episodes in and hate every one of the Fairborne, except for maybe Ceelia. Can’t wait to meet Marcus - he sounds like an absolute badass. And are we maybe getting polyamory?
