One of the things I really dislike about the entire "whites are evil" narrative nowadays is how some people are like "everything in the world was in harmony until the white people attacked" and I'm like... No? There's a ton of bad stuff happening across the world before the Europeans sailed across the world. And invalidating the idea that POC can be just as bad as the white people is kind of insulting. Hello, we have dictators and horrible historical tragedies caused by us too? Ugh.

Oh man, don't get me STARTED on people who hate America. I saw one of them complain about how America's history of colonialism and racism are these huge stains that ruin anything good about the country and how they just can't live here anymore. You want to know what this wannabe expat's top two alternative countries were? Japan and Germany. I tend to think most of the America-haters are just uninformed and easily swayed by herd mentality.

Not a single country has a stainless past. Not America, certainly NOT Germany or Japan, and not any country at all. Not a single one! There's no point for anyone to self hate over things they have no control over.

I feel like the people who are anti-American either have a semi-decent reason for it or are just twats who are absolutely jealous. I mean, I hate America but at least I'm self-conscious enough to know and admit it's because I envy their free speech laws.

Most people hate just one aspect of America most of the time, because it's an overly visible country and everyone hears about what's going on there, so everyone has got stuff to say about it

Uh, let's unpack this. People who commit armed robberies are destitute victims who had no other choice. Nobody does that because they want to. Besides, their harm to others is limited to small things, like a gas station attendant they murdered. This is nothing compared to how every time the n-word is uttered by a popular streamer, it harms many people and normalizes racism to the viewers and that stays with them forever. Pewdiepie has done more long-term damage than any home invader or murderer

Unpopular Opinion

You can have a story with:

-white people

-straight people

-single race couples

-non disabled characters

-cis gender characters

-mentally stable characters

-no diversity

and still be a good story! Being inclusive doesn’t make it good unless the plot and characters work well together.

And additionally, all that's listed before "no diversity" doesn't mean the characters aren't diverse! They'll have diverse opinions, lifestyles, experiences, worldviews, actions.

The fact that i’ve seen white people say their scared to say anything out of being deemed racist & losing their jobs, is scary. Poc hold the power, in the sense. Once they deem you as racist for ANY small thing, your career/life is over. I’ve seen black people say that whites should be burnt/raped etc with 0 consequences.

It IS scary. If you fail to keep up with the ever-changing moral code, you're finished. And that standard doesn't apply to everyone equally. If you're insulted, sworn at, threatened, you're not supposed to reply or defend yourself.

I don't know about that, but this weird performative white hating definitely DID start in America. Over here, some "activists" start using the PC American language to hate on whites too, they start using the same strategies, and to be honest it's not fooling anyone. Everyone sees that it's something that was imported from America.

Anyone who wasn't born in an English-speaking Country has to learn English and Anglophone cultures in order to be able to communicate properly with no language limitations. Would they call all of us 'appropriating Anglophone culture' for literally being forced to learn it? This is how stupid the concept of cultural appropriation is. There is nothing wrong with learning another language and another culture, this is the norm for all Countries that don't have English as 1st language.

The reason why peace is a thing, knowledge are a thing, is because people know how to translate. Learning a new language makes you smarter, and gives you the tools to look at the world completely differently. Also, you can barely understand a different culture without discovering the language. Misunderstandings and miscommunication would lead to so much more important problems than "REEEE I dislike that white people learn Japanese".

Learn languages, folks. Learn languages all around. Let me be clear. These people are jealous as hell of people who can speak two or more languages, and try to turn their ignorance into social justice virtue. It's not. Learn languages.
