there was something a little frightening about unveiling inventions for the first time – even if they worked! there was the fear that no one would really like the inventions that he had to offer. ( it didn’t help that his self confidence was lacking) taking a moment to look around the area more, he spotted one of the other inventors, a very friendly looking man. maybe it would be safe to go and introduce himself? stepping over, he couldn’t seem to quell his nerves.

❝ w-what sort of things do you like inventing? ❞ not his best start, but it was something. giving the man an apologetic smile, he held his hand out for him to shake. ❝ t-terribly sorry, i forgot to introduce myself! my name’s phillip. i’m one of the uh - other inventors. ❞

caractacus wouldn’t consider himself an extremely confident inventor, per se, but he had to admit that he had at least some assurance to drag himself and a few of his inventions to an event such as these. as a dedicated inventor and father, these were indispensable to making some sort of living and keep their modest home under ownership. though, despite the seriousness of bringing in patrons that might be interested in perhaps purchasing one of his wares (even if they didn’t work), there was still a thrill surging through the man’s veins to hear the guest’s reactions, or even some criticism from fellow inventors!

the man allowed a content grin as his compeer approached him, now coming to an attempt at a formal stand. he was definitely elated to boast some of his inventions, a few gadgets large and small on the table behind him. 

“ ah-- yes, hello! nono, don’t worry a thing about it,” caractacus urged, attempting to bring some levity to the awkward introduction,  “ caractacus potts; it’s a pleasure!” 

he brought his hand forward to shake phillips hand in introduction, bringing back to excitedly show off a few of his pride and joys.  “i have been working on a few machines that improve the general quality of life of the average middle class person, not anything TOO extraordinary. would you be interested in looking at a few?”

a small assortment of rules to follow while i get my blog set up. this is just a template to follow, as more rules will be added to this blog when a theme is implemented.

one. roleplay isn’t a high priority for me. i do this for fun and to blow steam. don’t yell at me or berate me for replies, memes, etc. this is just a hobby for me.

two. my interpretation of caractacus is based off of the musical/movie featuring dick van dyke. i have not read the book and i intend to do so, but even so, expect this blog to be heavily headcanon based. 

three. i’m very selective with shipping, and in hand, i’m also not a big of a fan of caractacus/truly. i know i know it’s canon but in my opinion it feels very rushed in the film and i don’t feel like it’s something i can fully write onto my blog. i want chemistry to happen if shipping is possible for my muse and another’s. 

four. don’t treat me like a meme resource. please, if you intend on reblogging a meme post from me, send me one first. if you don’t want to do that, then just reblog the meme from the source. it isn’t hard and i’m tired of bare inboxes and activity being filled with meme reblogs.

five. this blog is mutual exclusive. i will only interact with people that follow me and i follow in return. i have the right to interact with whom i choose and i shouldn’t be obligated to interact with certain people if i do not feel comfortable. please don’t try and interact with me if we aren’t mutuals.
