There's a lesson to learn here, and that it was high time he learned to be more careful. Tentatively touching the long cut on his leg, he bit his lip when the pain flared up in reply to his action. Not good. He had to heal this before it got worse, or before someone else found him. In his current state, Hope couldn't fight---he could barely keep himself standing. He needed some cover, just for a few minutes to fix his messed up leg. Looking around, Hope's eyes fell on some rubble. It wasn't perfect, but if he hid behind it, it would do.
By the time Hope got there and sat down, tears pricked the corner of his eyes. No. He didn't have time for that. He wiped his eyes and then looked at his leg. "Alright---I can fix this," he whispered to himself. He set Airwing on the ground right beside him and then brought his hand to hover over the red injury, focusing his magic on it. Soon enough, the green glow of a Cure spell began to emit and the wound started to heal. By the time Hope was finished, all that was left of the wound was the blood it left behind and the memory of it.
He still hurt all over, but he felt better knowing that the worst of it was gone. Still, he couldn't risk getting caught up in another fight. After making sure his leg was really fine, Hope picked up his boomerang and stood up. Then, he saw someone.
So much for not getting into a fight.
Whatever relief Hope had a minute ago, it was quickly gone. He was already so tired of fighting, and the blond man looked way too capable. How long was that guy standing there? Forget that, what was he going to do? Fear gripped him--Hope did not want to die here nor did he want to fight. Nonetheless, he readied himself for a battle he couldn't fight. It never really occurred to him that the man could be friendly.
“Stay back!” He shouted. “I don’t want to fight you!”
