“Hm. Fair enough. Although it wouldn’t surprise me if Jojo wanted to keep a f--”
Suddenly there was a crash – followed by a shout, followed by a loud buzzing noise that gradually grew in volume –
“I’m sorry! He got out!” Jojo’s voice could be heard as a rather large Beedrill burst into the room and made a B(ee)-line for the two scientists.
“–Dium! Relax!” Lenora hurried forward and held out her hands, “I’m fine, he’s a colleague! Calm down!”
The Beedrill came to a halt at the last moment but fixated on Augustine, glaring at him and protectively raising his pincers. “Beeeeeeee……”
“I’m sorry, this one’s mine,” she glanced over her shoulder at Augustine, embarrassed. “He’s always been very overprotective of me, especially around men. He just needs to get used to you.”
“Sorry, sorry, sorry!” Now Jojo ran in in a mild panic. “I left the door open by mistake and I think he overheard me mentioning you had company…”
“It’s fine,” Lenora sighed, shaking her head. “He didn’t attack anyone.” This time.
“Oh!” It was quite startling to see the Beedrill appear and then rush forward like that. Blinking, he takes one step back, but the Pokémon pauses before it can do anything. Thanks to Lenora’s instruction, that is.
It was good that nobody - namely him - was hurt. It seemed to have been a mistake and hopefully it wouldn’t happen again. But these assistants did make him wonder. Not that he knew them well enough, so he wouldn’t make any assumptions. That would be unfair.
(I’m just glad Sina and Dexio aren’t here...)
If they had been, then they would have been calling out Lenora’s assistants right now and telling them to be a bit more professional. Yes, he could definitely see them bickering.
“No harm done, but I am glad you were able to stop him.” He had been stung by a Beedrill. A few times, actually. Didn’t mean he wanted to suffer another one, though. Or something worse.
