This is me. I am a current college student who is dating the love of my life. The only downfall? He's a old-time missionary baptist preacher.This page is how I cope with my daily struggles of being a companion of a preacher, how I try to keep a life well enough for those who look up to me, and what all struggles my boyfriend and I have to deal with on a daily basis. This is truly one of my favorite songs. It breaks my heart every time I hear it. You turn the TV on or just get on Facebook you see the dangers and destructions of this world, this song makes me think of what will happen if everyone becomes too worried about how many followers the have instead of the songs in the church house. This is truly a song I want played at my funeral because I’m sure by the time I die that the world will just get worse. Have a good rest of your day.

Sunday Soapbox Entry #1

My boyfriend (after two months of dating) came to me and told me he had been called to preach. It wasn't a new concept to me as my family was filled with many preachers, however, I never really understood the amount of strength their wives had until I was in their shoes. I was told by many people that I should run away because I would have to deal with a lot of hardships and stress, but this is what I have told every single person who has ever told me to end it : “ I know I love him so I’ll support him through anything, I just wish there was more I could do to help him from day to day.” Many couples today see hardships and they are ready to throw in the towel but that’s not how it is with me and my Prince Charming. We have been through a lot in just 6 months of dating. We have seen each other at our lowest points and we have hit obstacles that I know have broken up others.So, this Sunday Soapbox is telling you don’t give up on that person who is the love of your life- if you truly love them and can’t fathom the idea of losing them- fix the problem. Be prepared for the worst so you are able to break down the obstacles as a team - not by yourself. I hope someone gained something in this post. Happy Sunday everyone! - hb13

Love

Love. It’s that gooey feeling that makes you feel like you’re on top of the world when you’re around that special someone. You would put your life on the line for the one you loved the most. The problem with love is you don’t realize you feel it until it’s already too late. You become vulnerable and you truly open up your heart to the ones you love. I was very fortunate enough to only really be vulnerable to one guy and that one guy was the guy I never expected to end up with. The guy who changed my life the minute he walked into it.
