Prem was born to a single mother, Isara, in a countryside town a few hours away from Bangkok. He was raised as an only child, and had no male father figure in his life.
His mother was incredibly hard-working, picking up jobs as a maid or a cleaner to richer households. She would even take a young Prem to work with her, leaving him under the watchful eye of other ladies who were on break, or keeping him with her in the rooms she cleaned so that he wasn't alone. Prem was incredibly attached to his mother as a result, and still cares for her deeply to this day.
Prem was always a happy child, despite the fact that he and his mother struggled day to day with finances. He attended school and picked up odd jobs at an early age, saving up as much as he could to help his mother with groceries and amenities. He took after his mother in terms of his work-ethic, always the first to put up his hand when something needed doing, and finishing whatever task he was assigned with to the best of his ability.
Prem asked his mother about his father when he was in primary school. His mother responded in silence for many years, until he was a teenager, when she revealed who he was. She told Prem his name, his profession, and even where he could find him in Bangkok - but made Prem promise that he would never tell him where she was.
