Okay but- suddenly Bruce is very VERY unable to hide his emotions

Bruce Wayne has always been a very emotionally constipated man. He is trained to run his body like the navy. Not even a micro expression slips past, he’s like a human statue at times

The batkids have learnt that this is just the way he is, right? They’re used to it, and besides. They have more important things to do than try to force BATMAN to go to therapy. I mean, they all need it, and none of them go, what kind of hypocrites would they be to impose it on the big man himself?

Now, I don’t know how this happened, because it’s not my art [wink_wonk_leave_some_skill_for_the_rest_of_us_wink_wonk] but suddenly, Bruce has no idea how to stop His Feelings. He has a tail, for gods sake. How is he supposed to be dark and brooding when he has a tail that wags?

and the bats are all having a perfectly fine evening, until they walk into the batcave, and Bruce looks up at them and his ears prick up, eyes brightening and tail thumping against the training mats Alfred has confined him to as he tries to look indifferent

it works on a grand, total score of none of them

By extension, none of them walk out that night unscathed

I just KNOW that more than half of them went back to their respective apartments/bedrooms and ugly cried
