Excuse me, but are you not working on translating 'Amitie and the Girl of Love'? You know, since the folks at Precise Museum appear to be working on that?
First of all, I just want to say... Thank you sooo much for doing this! I'm pretty sure you're the first source we have of a Shin Madou light novel being translated, right? Secondly, I was wondering if you'll be translating all of the Shin Madou light novels?
If I ever get my hands on them anyhow. You bet I’ll get working on them if I do!
when do you expect to have the waku puyo puyo mangas translated? or at least scanned?
I got them scanned, it’s just that I ended up backburning the cleaning and scanlating part really hard when my semester started. I feel awful for shoving it further back with the Madou novel being translated (which I’m excited to work on due to Madou lore being sorely lacking in translations), but I’ll try and get at least Chapter 1 cleaned up.
Shin Madou Monogatari Gaiden - The Golden Hero: Prologue - The Hero’s Advent!
“Phew…...”
With a thud, the young man sat down and leaned against the base of the great tree, flinging aside his bags under the bower.
*rustle…!*
The leaves, fully grown and at peak condition, rustle overhead. A complex web of branches extend out to let the verdant leaves show their vivid color, full of life and vigor. The gentle breeze brushes off the man’s sweat-dampened cheek, giving a cooling sensation to his heated body.
“A bit tougher this time around...”
With a faint sigh, he reached for something at his side, recounting the life-threatening struggle that transpired some time ago. His adversary was a monster at least thrice his size, and quite the heavyweight. However, the threat’s massive form was, in actuality, of least concern. The true evil was its ability to drain the life and bounty of the land, and would do so time and time again until all that remained was eroded ruin. It was a hard-fought battle for the man, but his inner strength allowed him to rise up without cease against the formidable foe. While victory was his, it was not without cost, for he suffered a wound upon his right flank.
(And it’s because of all of you, I still stand here and now…)
Entrusting himself to the tree, he quietly closed his eyes. Deep breath in...then slow breath out. Enshrouding his body was a sacred veil, from the surface and to every nook and cranny within, as if it’s permeating him with energy from head to toe. A soothing warmth took place of the wound’s ache, easing the pain. Soon enough, the severe gaping tear closed up splendidly, and in its place marked a faint scar.
“Thank you...for your comfort,” he whispered, reaching and gently placing his hand upon the backside of the tree trunk.
There was once a demonic threat that overran the world, and while its numbers have declined, wicked monsters threatened the people’s peace in its wake. The man’s purpose is to wander the lands to quell the beasts. Monster hunting is an arduous journey to him, but to his fortune, the land’s bounty gave him their blessings and support, offering the man their <protection>. Now that the monsters had fallen once more, the tree was able to reclaim its life force, which it used to mend to the man’s wounds. Thus, with the evils already wiped out from the region, it also meant one more thing...this journey has now met its end.
It happened about one year ago… The man was called forth as the <hero> to save a world from the terror of the <Dimensional Demon> that wreaked fear and deceit into the people. The goddess <Eldora> entrusted him the golden armor he wears, and bestowed the <Reactor Blade>, the sword of light he wields in tandem with his spirit in battle. Many people rely on him… wished for him… even revered and offered gifts to him… But it always made him feel distant and alone. There is a burden with carrying power beyond human understanding. Even if he could make fear and misfortune disappear, there is cruel irony in overpowering the monsters he fought, for it redirected fear onto the <hero> himself. As a consequence, he and the people are never to intermingle as <equals>. He is a <hero> at his very core, and because of that, they were afraid of him… The man would avoid interfering with the people’s lives, quickly and quietly distancing himself as soon as he fulfilled his duty, before anyone would catch wind of his presence, as the common tales would tell. Thus, leading into the present, after the end of a fierce fight… He has since left town, healing the wound in silent solitude. He couldn’t help but let out a self-deprecating laugh at how awfully ironic the thought was once it hit him.

At that moment, a light dashed past the corner of his eye. Perhaps the light was emitted from the base of the great tree, the same one that eased him. In response, he stepped up towards the light’s direction. The light was but a beautiful gemstone, fashioned into a lovely-looking pendant. The gem was blue in color, with a complex series of cuts that gave shape to its surface. The leaf-filtered sunlight beamed down upon it, the hundreds—thousands, even—of facets reflecting a dazzling gleam in many directions.
*jingle…*
The man held the blue gem-laden pendant in the palm of his hand, gazing at it in silence. The bygone events...They were all incredibly vivid memories. At least he himself and that world were seen as <equals>. He had a chance meeting with irreplaceable companions, sharing the battle against the new dimensional demon. That dimensional demon was the far-enduring being known as <Yog Swartus, the Wicked God of Dimensions>. Thus, with all due respect...that world likely came to be just so <that man> and he would cross paths.
(Sigh…)
The man’s facial expression softened. When he was handed the pendant, words from that world’s <chief> ringed in his head clear as day: “This world is a place for people like you can rest.” The meaning of those words left a pain in his chest. Maybe, just maybe...<that time> is now. Because the world’s chief endowed him with such great magical power, the chief likely knew everything and anything. The azure light emitting from the gem may be for his own uses.
“...take me back.”
The gem was cool to the touch as he lightly grasped it in his palm. As he held it up close to himself, he quietly closed his eyes.
“I really want to see <them> soon...”
Will his surprise visit lead him back to his fighting companions? Will it be a happy reunion? Such lingering negative thoughts had to be quietly pushed aside and towards the back of his mind. That said, he can’t think about that now, as it was rather presumptuous of him. And yet, he can’t help but imagine the smiling faces he’ll bring when he visits that world and reunites with the dearly missed. The girl with the flaxen hair...he’s sure she’ll welcome him back. She’ll even have the same, energetic and carefree smile on her face… His resolve was steeled. The azure light then slowly enveloped him, and he shot up to the open sky above. The man known as <Ragnus Bishasi> crossed dimensions once more, travelling to the world where his dear companions lived. Unbeknownst to him, however, it was the beginning of an <endless journey>… An endless journey guided by the treasured blue gemstone known as the <Azorecrack>.

Since you've finished the sega era novels, are you going to do Super Madou story Puyo Puyo Dungeon I of <3> Battle! next?
If I can get my hands on them, then I’ll GLADLY do it! I’ve been meaning to translate the Madou novels sometime, though the only Compile-era media I have so far is the Waku Puyo Dungeon manga, and that requires some photoshopping time to edit out the original text and typesetting.
Amitie and her friends, Arle, Ringo and also Carbuncle, were headed to the park to play, when suddenly Satan and Ecolo appear! It looks like Ecolo wants to play with Ringo, while Satan wants to play with Arle and Carbuncle. And they’ve decided to drag them into a strange amusement park! Why are they forcing them to visit a very dangerous amusement park!? Draco Centaur, Witch, and even Schezo are making their appearance!

What goes on when trying to translate Satan’s Space Amusement Park? Well, here’s some of the notes of whatever confusing joke passed by.
Ekoro/Ecolo/Ecoro - Just about the most egregious case of “Spell my Name With an S” I’ve experienced ever. So I’ve been working with [Ekoro] for the longest time, fan translations rolled with [Ecolo], and the 25th Anniversary Book spells it as [Ecoro]. I rolled with the third option, mainly because the files use ECO for his data, and because it sounds like a hybrid of both spellings. And it makes the whole “corocoro” derivative theory more sensible. AND IT TOOK THE OFFICIAL ENGLISH RELEASE OF PUYO TETRIS TO CONFIRM IT’S “ECOLO.”
On an unrelated note, Ecolo doesn’t register as either Boys or Girls in the mobile game “Puyo Puyo!! Quest,” implying that Ecolo is a genderless being. Yes, even if Ecolo uses “boku” as the I-pronoun of choice and has a vaguely masculine human form. Though with Puyo Tetris being a thing, all intents and purposes, male pronouns are used. At least, when I go back to fix everything.
Satan - Okay, I know he’s called “Dark Prince” over here. However, he’s called Satan over in Japan, and it’s even noted in 3D Puyo Tsu. I am going to keep his name intact, as that is what I am used to. It’s fine that he’s named Dark Prince for the sake of “Oh, we called him that before so we’ll keep it that way for consistency.”
The sudden change in translation direction - So during Procrastination Time, Puyo Tetris happened between chapters 8 and 9. You might notice that the writing has taken a sudden swerve in style, in an attempt to capture the charm of Puyo Tetris. I cannot fully emulate it due to my own style taking precedence in some cases, but it's there in places.
Chapter 1
Ecolo Nicknames - This was a carry-over from the Puyo game translations, when he just called them (name)-chan, which is used to refer to girls, or to sound nickname-y. Ecolo has a strong attachment for Ringo, so I wouldn’t put it above him to have him use a cutesy nickname. Ecolo acts incredibly childish to not use nicknames. As for referring to Satan as “pops,” the word in question is 「おじさん」 which is akin to “uncle” or “old man.” And yes, that includes “Old Man Stan.” It’s too hard to NOT have him call him “Stan.”
Spasstime - I dunno, How would you make Amitie derp on “Space-time”?
“She just curled up her brows...” - It’s our good friend “brows look like the ハ character” sentence from the first book. I cannot do a straight translation of this.
“...we've been conditioned to suspect anything they do is sorta shady business.” - Arle uses the expression 「 疑心暗鬼 」 which means “ Suspicion will raise bogies.” or “Once you suspect something, everything else will look suspicious.” Yeah, this is from Arle’s mouth. I thought it’d be something from Ringo, but nope. The sentence had Arle’s pronoun. I kinda had to slang it up a bit because Amitie was being a derp and asked what the expression meant. Amitie seems like the type to be slow on what slang is.
Chapter 4
Draco’s official spelling - So Draco has the “centaur or centauros” debate going on for her. The Charagumin spelling is the former, but she was spelled out the latter in the first game AND Puyo Tetris. For the sake of current-day consistency, I went with the latter.
Chapter 5
You're killing me here~! - The phrase here is「 ツボに入る」, an expression of laughter that roughly equates to “laughing my head off,” “cracking up,” or something similar.
Chapter 6
"S-...Seh WAAAAAAAHT!?" (and the rest of the garbled shouting) - Exactly what you expect. Ringo ended up corrupting actual words into shout-y sounding ones, so I gotta fit the bill!
"Force yourself to!" - Line changing time! Schezo told Ringo to “huff your chest”, in the context of “SUCK IT UP!” Schezo’s blunt, but I had to find a way for him to say that line in a Schezo-y way, because he talks a bit more old-fashioned. It was kinda hard.
IT'S A NOPPERA-BO~~~! - It’s an actual yokai. Who knew? They’re basically faceless humans.
Basically everything Yu & Rei says - PUNS. EVERY TRANSLATOR’S NIGHTMARE. I had to pretty much rewrite every pun, wordplay, and riddle they threw into something else while retaining the basic spirit geddit? of each question. THERE’S A REASON WHY THEY HAVE THEIR OWN SECTION OF TL NOTES!
"You many not know what you're getting into, but we're going to commemorate this 'hullabaloo' with a quiz 'rendezvous,' which you're in 'aren't you'~?" - Basically reiterating 「出会い」「であい」「でない」 like a rhyme of some kind.
"Before you’ll even notice, we’ll stamp you up and seal the deal for you~!" - They used「押して」writing, but if written like
「押し手」it means “stamp” or “seal.” Geez this one is pretty next level wordplay.
These are the ones for the Quiz segment:
Tori means bird, but what kind of tori doesn’t fly?
Answer: Sumotori (those sumo wrestlers)
Name a pan (bread) that you can’t eat!
Answer: Frying pan
Pai is pie, but what’s a pai you can drink?
Answer: Kanpai! (As in ”Cheers!” and then you take a drink.)
What’s up top a table when it breaks?
Answer: a breakdown (this reading is used: 故障. The other phonetically identical one, 胡椒, is “pepper”)
What is the biggest kai ever to exist?
Answer: Sekai (world)
Which is the particularly bright Puyo?
Answer: The Red Puyo, because it has “aka,” particularly in the word akarui (明るい) meaning “bright.”
3 was actually a happy accident while I took an initial skim-through of the book. It just went “DING!” and I immediately wrote it down somewhere so I don’t lose it.
"Ah, that was fun! It's only right to thank you for making this a spirit-ed night!" - Yu said “thanks” with「アリが十匹」which reads “ten ants” but sounds near phonetically identical to ありがとう. HOW DO YOU TRANSLATE THAT!?
That /DEDD Ringo at the end of the chapter? THAT’S ME. THAT’S ME AFTER TRYING TO MAKE NEW PUNS. Though I have to give some credit to a couple of friends for helping me bust my butt over these puns.
Satan’s Space Amusement Park Chapter 10 - Let’s Play with Everyone! ♪
Several days passed after the amusement park incident.
I headed to the Primp Town park like usual, meeting up with my good friends. I promised to play with Arle and Ringo today~! ♪ Now what shall we do~? There's tag, hide-and-seek, catch...It'll all be fun when I play with everyone. As I excitedly made way to the park, Ringo's already there and waiting. I waved my hand to say 'hello' to her, only to be met with something materializing outta nowhere. Right by her, that black shadow came to my sights.
"Heya Ringo-...and Ecolo!" I called out, grabbing the attention of the two of them.
"Hey there, Amitie."
"Heyo to you, Amitie!"
"H-heyo..." I replied, nervously drawing closer to him. He's drooling as always, arms outstretched like he wants a hug.
"Aww don't be so on edge! I'm really super-duper sorry for the craziness!"
"Super-duper sorry?"
"Yup! I was kinda-sorta brute forcing the whole happy thing because Ringo and all of you weren't happy. But now I'm just gonna do The Amitie Way, by comin' over to play!"
"Wh-...Really?"
"Yep, really."
Then Ringo spoke up.
"Hey, Ecolo."
"Hold that thought!"
"Hold up for what!?"
"Hold that pretty sketchy talk!"
We all froze up from whoever said that, until the voice came clear.
"Hey guys!"
And the voice is Arle's! The sudden call though...that spooked me. It wasn't just Arle and Carbuncle though, Satan's coming along too!
"H-H-Hey there..." Arle nervously greeted, with Satan giving a hearty laugh behind her.
"Hahahaha! There's no need to be so tense when you have the prince of charms by your side! ♪"
"Yeah- no. I'm just keeping an eye on you in case you're up to something again."
"Gu gu gu."
Arle and Carbuncle quietly grumbled to themselves.
"For today, I've come for Arle and Carbuncle...no, not just that. I've come for every~one so I may play along! ♪"
"Wha-!?"
Satan too!?
Arle turned to me, "Well, if everyone is serious about playing together, then I guess that's fine," she chuckled.
Yep yep, a warm and welcome change! With a group of people like this...
*rustle!*
"Arle! Still standing in my way with my playtime with Satan... I won't forgive you for this! I want in on this!"
*rustle rustle!*
"Arle! There you are! Today...you will belong to me!"
"Whoah! Now Rulue and the creeper are here too!"
This is a surprise! Rulue and Schezo coming out of the bushes made Arle give a shriek of shock.
"Who. Are. You. Calling a creeper!?"
"Well with that way of talkin', you totally sound like one!" Ecolo giggled, pointing at him.
"Excuse me but...are you here to play too?" Ringo asked, sounding slightly bothered.
"Yes, why would it not...?"
"Of course we are! It has to be a special occasion if you two are okay with playing with Satan! I'll gladly join you in the fun!"
Schezo didn't say much else, but Rulue certainly did, complete with her lady-like "Oh ho ho ho!" laugh.
"Okie-dokie! What shall we do then!" I popped in...
"Is there a sparring log around here?" Rulue requested.
"We could hang one from a tree so you can give it a good long kicking. You want us to go do some kick training, then?"
"Next."
"Whoa-hey-now, Arle! You sure shot that idea down fast!"
Ah- ahaha. Guess getting everyone to play is a teensy bit hard...
Then Ecolo came up with something.
"Ooh! Ooh! How about a Jet Coaster~! I'll even keep the Puyo popping to keep the thing up in the air~!"
"That's the WORST idea! It would certainly crash!"
"Now how would you know that?"
"I RODE it before! That's why!"
"Ahahahaha! ♪ I'm sure it'll be fiiine~!"
"Not with those baseless claims! NEXT!"
And Ringo fiercely argued against Ecolo's idea.
"Hmph...Then how about I suggest a game worthy of all praise?" Satan stood in, pointing to himself.
"I have a bad feeling, and I'd rather not, but what is it...?"
"Gu gu...?"
Arle and Carbuncle, for now, asked him about it.
"How kind of you to ask the strapping one himself. For my next gathering of all of you, I, the great Satan, can tell you about this one lovely place, or this cool place, or this wonderful place we can go!"
"Ah~! That sounds simply delightful, Satan! Well, that settles it, I declare that this is our course of action!"
"Alright, next."
In spite of Rulue taking a shine to Satan's idea, Arle flatly rejected it.
"Hey Amitie, no one can agree on anything. Do you have any better ideas?" Ringo asked, her finger tapping her thinking cap.
"Uhm, let's see..."
Well then.
That's it.
At times like this, whether it's just one, two, or quite a few, we can have fun with that! Arle and Ringo know what I'm talking about when they see that smile on my face.
"Thinking about that?"
"Yep, that thing!"
"Alright then! One, two..."
And the three of us called out at the same time...
Satan’s Space Amusement Park Chapter 9 - Atop the Crescent Moon
"Alright Satan, haven't you learned enough!?"
"You too Ecolo! I've had enough of your games!"
The both of them scolded, Arle with a hand on her hip, and Ringo crossing her arms. Satan and Ecolo are right in front of them, both of them looking and feeling pretty sorry. Satan's down on his knees with a huge bump on the head, while Ecolo's nothing but the hovering space core thing on his chest. ...well, this is kinda surreal, actually.
“Are you sorry yet!?” Arle yelled.
“I’m so sorry...Arle...” Satan whimpered.
“Don’t apologize to just me, apologize to everyone else too!”
“Guguguguu!”
Even Carbuncle’s scolding him! That’s what I get from how loud he is.
"...Sniff...but..." Satan sobbed, looking all teary-eyed, then he burst into tears. "But you see, every time I invite you, you never come along for the ride, my sweet Arly and Carbunny! It wounds me dearly! I just wanted a date with you! WAAAH!"
Now he's flailing his arms like a kid on a tantrum!
"Whoahwhoah-what!?"
I couldn't help but jump backwards from the huge gap of a mood swing. Arle and Carbuncle, though, aren't moved one bit.
"Oh, don't you go guilt trip me like that!"
"Guu guu!"
Is this normal!? I turned over to Schezo, and he straight up tells me "If you're wondering, yes, this happens often." before I asked. O-often, huh? But then why isn't Rulue reacting so strongly?
"Ahh, my darling Satan...you're always so cool, even if you're crossing the gap to being a miscreant. I can't tear my eyes away from your mysterious aura~!"
Because Rulue is busy swooning over him, with the dreamy sigh included too. ...I guess there's no problems here.
"Before you say any more, you really need to learn from Amitie, Satan," Arle said with a look of concern, making me jump when I heard her say my name.
"Huh!?"
"If you knew any better, you'd know everyone was actually getting along. Just look around, everyone's got a smile on their face! Me, Amitie, heck, everyone else loved it here."
"Wh-what...? A-Arly, do you mean that?" Satan asked, confused by all this praise.
"Yup! Amitie's always thinking about everyone's needs, and not saying anything selfishness is beyond ordinary kindness! Satan, Ecolo, if you learn from her, you'll make us smile too!"
"R-Ringo wait! Stop that!"
I don't even know what to make of this. Satan's an adult, right? So why learn from me? What IS this supposed to be about...? Uhm... er...
Satan darted a menacing glare at me.
"Okay then, tell me something, little girl..."
"C'mon! You're not holding a grudge, are you!?"
Th-they're scaring me!
"...Uh?"
Well, this is something. Things got dark really quick. Everything used to be all bright and shining, and now there's this light fog coming in.
"So you're saying this place isn't fun?" Ecolo asked. I don't really understand why he's asking that out of the blue.
"What the-!? Ecolo!?" Ringo blurted out and tried to spot him, but he was nowhere to be found.
"And you're still mad at Old Man Stan, right Arle?"
"Uh...?"
Ecolo looked over Satan as he asked more.
"He's lookin' all sad because he's not having fun. I feel the same way since Ringo's mad at me."
I have a bad feeling about this.
"W-What are you up this time, Ecolo!?" Ringo shouted in a panic.
"Ahahahaha! ♪ I still wanna have some fun here. Us losing that Puyo Battle and getting angry, all that was that meddling Amitie's fault, isn't it?"
"No it isn't..."
"Enough with that nonsense, Ecolo!"
Arle and Ringo clamored against him. But...
"Maybe I should her away from you two~! ♪"
"H-Huh...?"
M-Me? As soon as he said that...
*woosh!*
"Huh...? Wha...?"
I found myself getting swallowed up and lifted by that black fog. I felt myself getting carried off to somewhere.
"Wh-... WHAAAT'S GOING OOON!? What even is this~~~!?"
I helplessly flailed around in the air, kicking and struggling to break free, but it didn't do anything.
"AMITIIIE!!"
Arle and Ringo called out, trying to reach out for me. They're only getting smaller and smaller as I got further away!
"Eep...AAAAAH!!" I shrieked, as I continued to get taken higher and higher.
"Geez...did you really need to do that?"
"Oh come on, why wouldn't I, when you're the one getting showered with praise, Amitie?"
And before I knew it, I'm high and far up in the sky. I was even sitting on some pretty, curved, golden-yellow boat-like thing. At one end of the kinda-sorta-boat, Satan was sitting with me, while on my other side, Ecolo was floating around.
"Where...am I...?"
"G'mornin' Amitie! You're on the crescent moon!"
"Huh!? Crescent moon!? THE actual moon as a crescent!? What!?"
"Ahahahaha! ♪ Don't think about it too hard!"
In my shock, I looked down.
"Amitiiie!"
"Gu gu guuu!"
"You alright there!?"
Off down below was the amusement park, with Arle and the rest shouting in the distance. That includes Schezo and Rulue too, but being so far high up here is giving me the height scare since no one can reach that high.
"I-I'm alright!" I called out, waving my hands at them from above...
"Careful now, falling off here would mean the end of you," Satan warned, sounding quite stern.
"W-What do you want with me...?" I nervously asked.
"Well you see, you're our hostage!" Ecolo answered, and is unsettlingly upbeat about it.
"Hostage...?"
"Correct. I request you let Arly and I be so we can go out on our honeymoon♪..."
"And let me make Ringo not angry and bring a smile to her face!"
""And you're not stopping us!""
"W-whaaat~!? You can't do that!" I shouted, and got really panicky.
"You needn't worry. We wouldn't do things that isn't mature of us."
"Yep yep, we're gentlemen around here~! ♪"
"No you're not! You're gonna trouble Arle and Ringo so much from all the trouble you're planning, aren't you!?"
Satan and Ecolo only gave me a staredown to what I said. What do I do!? I gotta get outta here! But I'm stuck up here in the sky... I look back down to Arle and the others trying to think of...huh? I think I see some hands waving this way.
"......"
I stared back for a moment, then turned back to Satan and Ecolo.
"H-hey, why are you doing this?"
"What do you mean?"
"If you like her, why are you putting her through this nonsense?"
"This is NOT just some nonsense!" Satan huffed, crossing his arms.
"But Arle's always running around and away from you..."
"Hmph. Arle's just being a bit shy for me."
"Shy?"
"That's right! She's so embarrassed she couldn't bear to show her face to me after reciving that invitation!"
"Wait, what???"
Arle couldn't not come to mind. She's always got a bright, spirited smile on her face, and is pretty much a "to-the-point" kind of person. But when Satan says he knows everything about her since he's seen and been with her for a long time...
"Uhm, DOES he know that's not exactly true?"
"What was that!?"
"Meep!"
I ended up thinking out loud and not keeping it to my self, unsurprisingly getting a threat from Satan. Urf, but what's said is said, no take-backs.
"Arle loves you, you say? Rather, you think that's true. But here's the real talk: you're being a big fat bother to her. Even then, even now, you're demanding her attention..."

"And heck, you built this gigantic amusement park just for her. Even if it is meant for only her, she couldn't take it seriously. She ended up getting seriously annoyed, and wanted to give you what-for to teach you a lesson..."

"And you still think that attitude..."

Eep, I'm not liking that silence! I stared at him, expecting him to speak or butt in, but he said not a single thing! I'm at a loss of words right here, fidgeting, and waiting for something. Then Satan finally breathed a sigh.
"Huhu..."
"Eh?"
"Heh...Hahahahaha! AHAHAHAHA!"
Satan let out a laugh that practically pierced the heavens. It's not his same old laugh though. It didn't sound like the laugh of someone who cooked up a scheme of some kind. It was more the little kid with rosy cheeks having fun kind of laugh.
"Uh- UHHMMMMM...I-Is something up?"
"Not at all. The words you spoke to me, it reminded me that I still have much to learn."
"!"
Satan placed a finger upon his lips, letting a chuckle pass through as he looked down at me.
"I'm sure of it, Amitie. Perhaps I am a tad overbearing on Arly here."
"...Uh..."
"Those words vented out up front and frank, they lingered and resonated. You truly love Arle, don't you."
"Er, yeah...but..."
I think I learned something ever since I came to this amusement park.
"Isn't your kind of love and my kind a little different from each other?"
"Oh...?" Satan cocked his head to the side, cracking a smile.
"I heard it from Rulue. The love from friends is not like the special kind of love. But the special love has so many mysteries I can't really understand. It's a really weird, mysterious feeling."
"Ah..." Satan narrowed his eyes in interest.
"I-I-I still don't really get it! But-but see! That's just one thing of more!"
"Really? Spit it out then."
"Love is that kind of being you think about, but can't be forced upon someone."
"Hm?"
"You want to care, you want to do something, but you don't wanna be pushy. It’s gotta be something heartfelt..."
Ba-bump ba-bump, my heart thumped... And I let my hand slip away from the edge of the crescent moon.
"Like this!"
"Wha-...!?"
Will it work? Maybe it won't! But I believe in Arle and Ringo! It made Satan shout in a panic as he watched me take the fall from the moon.
"W-What have you DONE!? AMITIE!"
And because of what I did, Ecolo suddenly jumped in to try and stop my fall. He didn't do it in time though. I readied myself in the air, arms out open as I got closer to my target landing. And right there waiting for me is a Puyo chain mountain made by Arle and Ringo!
"Amitiiiie!"
"No need to worry, you're right on the mark!"
The two of them called out. With a smile, I closed on in.
"Take that Red Puyo up top and pop it!"
"Here!"
Arle and Ringo passed a Red Puyo to me. And with that Puyo, time to land on top of that Puyo mountain.
*Pop!*
*Plop, plop, pop!*
Right on cue, the Puyo all started to pop away. Like the Puyos, I came down with them as they chained, down to the Blue Puyo, and then to the Yellow one... I was using the popped Puyos like a cushion, bouncing upon them as I got closer and closer to Arle and Ringo. And once it's all over...
"I'm baaack!"
I jumped straight into their arms!
"Ahaha, welcome back Amitie!"
"Gu gu gu guu!"
"Glad you could come back down to us!"
"I always believed I could! Thanks so much, guys!"
I turned up to the skies above, spotting a flabbergasted Satan and Ecolo.
"I-I think..."
"We've been outplayed..."
Without wasting time, Arle and Ringo grabbed them by the shoulders and gave one heck of a talkdown.
"Alright, let Amitie go this instant, Satan!"
"And no more kidnapping from you, Ecolo!"
"What do you have planned next?!"
"Whatever it is, leave us out of it!"
But then...Satan just cocked his head in silence.
"Well, consider this my loss to you, Arle. But it was fun!"
"Huh...?"
Ecolo also cocked his head, a hand over where his mouth is.
"You sure did a wild and crazy thing, Amitie~. Crazy and fun though!"
"Ecolo...?"
"Hey Amitie, what were you doing up in the sky?"
"Now spill! What sort of mischief has my darling Satan done!?"
Schezo and Rulue tried to get answers from me...
"Huh!? Uh-, well- I'd rather not..." I stammered.
"Alrighty then, it's time to head back home! Here we GO!" And by Ecolo's words...
*bwoosh!*
"Yikes!"
Some floaty sensation took over my body. Everything around me turned all twisty, then faded to black!
"T-This is...!"
Other than the three of us, Carbuncle, Schezo, and Rulue, there was nothing else.
"We're all getting taken out of here!" Ringo shouted.
"Always with the surprises I see...!"
"Gu gu guu!"
After we've been swimming in the dark for a bit, we eventually ended up back in Primp Town.
Satan’s Space Amusement Park Chapter 8 - Decisive Battle! The Dark Prince and the Space-time Traveler!
Out of the maze and into safety, everyone was able to gather and meet.
“Oh goodness. Why won’t they listen to why I needed to break down a labyrinth wall?”
“Just because you say so, it doesn’t mean anyone else is allowed to! That’s illegal you know!”
As Rulue grumbled and complained, Schezo was there to counter-argue. Meanwhile, Arle and Ringo took another peek at the stamp card to confirm where our next destination is... then an “Ah!” followed it.
"Hey, once we get the stamps from Schezo and Rulue, our card's gonna be all filled up!"
"Gu gugu~!"
"A-About time...At least the ones who did fill it out is all of us!" Then she held out the card for all to see.
"You're right! It's finally over, then~ It was super fun though, and I kinda don't want it to end!" I claimed, trying to keep a smile...
*silence...*
H-Huh? Why are Arle and Ringo's giving me that face with that troubled-sounding laugh?
"That definitely sounds like something you’d say..."
"I figured as much, Amitie..."
"Eh?"
That said and done, Schezo took the stamp card from my hand as I passed it around.
"So, shall we summon Satan and Ecolo?"
"What? You want to call forth Satan?" Rulue perked up when Satan was mentioned.
"Dare I say, yes. Upon completion of this stamp card, Arle and her group will return home...That is, that's according to their rules. Anything they have staged, they will act at any moment."
"Oh do tell me more! I want to see darling Satan♪"
"With that, I'll stamp it."
"As well as my own stamp...okay!"
*pop and stamp!*
With the two stamps marked in, the completed stamp card then...
*triumphant jingle~♪*
Some kind of fanfare suddenly started playing. Then...
"Congratulations! Well done, Arly and Carbunny~♪"
"Woo hoo! Hey hey, how as it? Didja have fun~?"
A puff of smoke blew in around us, and it was even all bright, shiny, and sparkly. And out of the smoke, Satan and Ecolo stepped out and made their appearance! He's looking satisfied with his arms spread out, while Ecolo's having a good time like usual.
"Satan, we got the stamps like you asked, can we go back home to our world now?"
"Gu gu! Gu gu!"
"That goes for you too Ecolo! You promised, didn't you?"
Arle and Ringo interrogated right from the get-go. ...meanwhile, Rulue clasped her hands, swooning and saying "Aah, Darling Satan, making such a cool entry~!" in the background.
"Of course♪"
"We promised~!"
Satan and Ecolo were quick to tell us that to make us feel better. Though...
"But before that, as a reward for completing the stamp card, I have reserved a present for Arly and Carbunny!" Satan heartfully announced.
"Huh...? I-I don't want it though."
"Gugugugu!"
Despite his hospitality, Arle and Carbuncle backed the heck away from him.
"Don't say that! It's my~ treat! From the prince of hell, the great Satan, it's a pair of tickets for our love-love honeymoon♪! Of course there's room for Carbunny too~♪ Now then, Arly! Now that you've thoroughly enjoyed the amusement park, kick back and relax in our dream airport! Allow me to heal you with love on your trip back home! HA HAHAHA!!"
"......" Arle's shoulders hung in disbelief.
"Is this old man honest with ending it all once we're home?" Schezo sighed profoundly.
"Th- that's excessive..." Ringo looks disappointed.
"Huh...wonder what that means..." I'm shocked, but completely lost.
"EEEEEK! That ticket is a dream come true...!" And Rulue's all levels of losing it.
Moments later...
"I think that...you should SCREW OFF!!"
"GuGUUUU!!"
Arle exploded in a fiery rage!
"WHY! IN THE WORLD! DO YOU ALWAYS! DO THIS NONSENSE!!"
And then Satan retorted.
"Hm? Arly. Are you displeased?"
"Me, and just about everyone else around here want to go back to our world!"
"Ha ha ha, no need to be modest, Arly ♪"
"Like HELL I am! There's no way I'm getting on board with that!"
"Guguguuuu!"
W-whoah there. Even with Arle getting in his face with rage, Satan's keeping his cool. Does he even know what she's furious about? I'm getting shivery just watching this!
"What...Arly. I treated you to this gorgeous amusement park, and yet you still want more!"
"NO! I! DON'T!"
"Gu-gu-gu!"
"Well now, being the needy and greedy one, are you...your selfishness is cute, but since I must draw a line, how about I mi~ldly punish you for that?"
"That's fine by me. I'm itching to serve you some punishment!"
"Hm...I see...Very well." Satan answered, spreading out his wings.
Wait, what? This turn of events...Turning left and right to their directions, they both look ready to go already. Uh-huh, it's that time. I even clenched my fists with them. With that, Arle and Satan both proclaimed...
""PUYO BATTLE!""
There's the phrase I'm waiting for! And Schezo has something to say about it.
"Hmph, so this is where it comes to in the end. Hey, Satan. Why must you drag us in such strange circumstances at times like this..."
"Sir Perverted Gossipy Wizard! Remember that your clownish style actually gave us a good laugh!"
"Silence, Ringo! ...Ahem. I wish you purge those thoughts of me suffering though such shenanigans!" Schezo swatted away that little comment Ringo made, and wasted no time pointing his sword at Satan.
“Whuuuut? Is pops gonna play some Puyo?” Ecolo butted in, after having floated around without saying anything for a bit.
“Whoah- Ecolo! Don’t let you and your drooling self get into this mess!” Ringo sputtered out...
“But it looked so fun, I wanted a piece of the action~!” But Ecolo paid no mind.
“Grrr! You’re such a hassle!”
After that outburst, this battle of Puyo is starting to turn into total chaos here!
*plop, plop, plopity-plop*
But hey, at least Puyo battles are super fun times! ♪
But how do you chain? You focus, picture it, and you gotta plop, pile, and stack them up high with the Puyo given around you. With Puyo the one thing dancing in your mind, there’ll be tons of Puyo around you in no time...and boom! The start of a chain will lead to one pop right after another before your very eyes. It’s such a hoot! I can’t help but call out my spells whenever those popped Puyo release its power~! Playing Puyo is a favorite of mine, them, and just about everyone else. Whenever I head to Primp Town Park, Arle, Ringo, Carbuncle, and I get together for some rounds of Puyo.
But right now, this seems more like serious business... It’s just not that same, happy feeling.
"Don't forget that Satan's our opponent, Carby. Now let's get in there with everything we've got!"
"Guguguguu!"
As always, Arle and Carbuncle stacked away the Puyo like the go-getters they are.
"Alright Ecolo...I'm your opponent like usual!"
And also as usual, it looks like Ringo's stacking away all super focused and stuff. On the flipside though, Satan and Ecolo are being casual with it.
"It's alright Arly, there's no need to be so serious about it. ♪"
"Wooo, it's been a while we since last played Puyo, Ringie! I wonder what chains you'll be bringing~!"
On the sidelines, I could hear Rulue going "Go-go, fight on, my darling Satan~!", cheering him on with a voice that's practically golden and shiny. Schezo, though, is the one to make the first move.
"Brace yourself, Satan! Sting Shade!"
Whoaaah, how the heck did Schezo get a big tall chain that fast? All those Puyo are popping one after the other, and Schezo's gathering the chain's power into the dark sword to attack Satan! As for me, I'm just kinda sorta throwing something together with my powers. It can't end that quickly, can it?
I took a peek over, and they're just taking it easy.
"Hmph. Are you even trying?" Satan scoffed, taking flight to evade Schezo's attack! And over there...
"Hey hey mister, I wanna play too! Being on the sidelines bore me!" Ecolo complained, rapidly firing spells as he popped some Puyo chains. "Swindle!"
"Gnaagh!"
And Schezo gets rained on by Garbage Puyo. Being the person I am, I couldn't help but blurt out my concern.
"Schezo! You alright there!?"
"Hmph, what a bother I've been roped into...Should've seen it coming..."
"Seen what coming?"
"The duo! They're a formidable unit!"
On that note, Arle and Ringo chimed in.
"Satan may be a jokester through and through, but he's still really strong..."
"Ecolo too. Despite his looks, his real power is beyond the imagination."
"Say WHAAAAT~~~!?"
And now I'm more nervous about everyone than ever!
"Eeeee! How could my man be this cool, go-getting, and so beautiful!? Come on, please go and give Arle a beat down~!" Rulue cheered on, completely in 'Satan's Cheerleader' mode.
"Oh come on! Help us out here, Rulue!" I called out, since she was getting along before...
"Oh ho ho ho! But I am Satan's precious Love Attendant! Until darling Satan's splendor is burned into your mind, you should just shut up!"
"Meep!"
Arle and Ringo both fired off their spells to their respective targets. But then...
"What's the matter, Arly? That all you got? ...Cataclysm!"
"Hoo, Ringie's little attack looks adorable! ...Lovely Trick!"
"AAAAAAH!"
They both got hit with a counter attack.
"W-What do we do, what do I do...!?"
For the most part, I'm more or less still working on my Puyo chain. But if I try and attack with this spell, I don't think it'll do a thing to them! I need some sort of Plan B...
"Hm? You're already tuckered out?"
"I wanna play some more~!"
And just like muscle memory, Satan and Ecolo's building away still. Oh no, at this rate, just doing one-by-one isn't going to do anything on them. ...wait, I got it!
"Arle! Ringo! Let's do a combination attack!" I called out to them.
"A what, Amitie? ...Oh yeah!"
"I see now! Let's get to work on that!"
Looks like my idea got to them, one hundred percent.
"What the? What are you scheming?" Schezo asked, looking a bit puzzled. And Arie's quick to answer him,
"Please, Schezo! I need you to fend off some of Satan and Ecolo's attacks!"
"What!? Th-That's a demanding task ...I can handle the old man just fine, but how am I supposed to know which attack is where!?"
"Can't you tag up with Rulue?"
"Gu gu-gu?"
"RIDICULOUS! Team up with her when she's like THIS!?"
"You can do it! Fight on! Give it your best!"
"Let me have a say in this!!"
"C'mon! We'll have something up our sleeve if you give us a hand!"
"......"
He doesn't look like he's on board with that, but he reluctantly turned to Rulue.
"Hey Rulue!"
"What now? I've heard everything. What are you begging for this time...?"
"Are you okay with Satan winning?"
"What kind of a question is that!? Of course I am!"
"I see. Then if he won, off he goes with Arle swooped away to their flight...Are you content with that?"
"!!"
Rulue froze up.
"Are you SURE you want Satan to have his lovey-dovey honeymoon when he wins?"
"P- Probably...not..."
"If you find that absolutely disgusting, then help me out! Put up with Ecolo's next attack, and I'll manhandle Satan!"
"G-...Nrrrrgh...."
Rulue trembled under her conflicted feelings, but once she assured herself, she unfolded her fan and dove into the battlefield.
"I'll certainly make you pay for letting Satan have his honeymoon with Arle... Let me at 'em!"
"Yes!" Schezo made a little fist pump.
"Oh wow... Sir Creeper Mage actually roped her in," Ringo commented to herself.
"Those two took their sweet time on that small talk," Arle added, bitterly smiling.
Okay, everything’s looking good. Onwards...!
"...I don't know what you're even thinking, but I do know you should stay out of the lover's quarrel, Schezo!"
"Whoah, check out that chain building~! Guess I'm playing with this missy instead, huh~?"
Even with their side talk, it looks like they're just about done with their chains.
"I am NOT in the way of your 'quarrel', you're just a thorn on my side." Schezo scoffed, even though Satan's going double time on that big chain of his.
"That's right, and I've got a special kind of playtime. Just. For. You!" Rulue provoked Ecolo, readying a fighting stance.
"Hmph, run your mouth all you like..."
"Here I go!"
"Ascension!"
"Imitation!"
*grandiose explosion that is still audible in deep space!*
Whoah...! I totally forgot how super strong Satan and Ecolo are. Even if the attack wasn't directed at us, we were still close enough to feel the force of it from the fluttering of our hair and clothes. Wait, are Schezo and Rulue alright!? Or are they total goners from that in just one fell swoop!?
I thought wrong on that last part.
"Gr...ngh...!"
Schezo was watching our backs, readying his dark sword for Satan's spell.
"Haaaah...!"
As for Rulue, she stood her ground to stop Ecolo's attack. And then THAT happened.
"Hoo-HAH!!" Schezo slashed his sword horizontally, deflecting Satan's power!
"Hi-YAH!" And Rulue pivoted her body to parry Ecolo's attack.
"Is- Is that all you got, Satan...?"
"Teehee. You're such a lightweight...!"
Once that's done, the duo went and did some garbage Puyo cleanup, building up small chains to get them out.
"Well...that was a surprise."
"Hoo-wee! You're a strong missy, aren'tcha!"
Satan and Ecolo don't look shaken though. But now's our chance! They've got nothing to attack with!
"Now!" I called out.
"Preparations, A-OK!"
"Gu guu!"
"Ready when you are!"
Arle and Ringo answered back. Alright, what perfect timing too!
"What!?"
"Huh..."
Satan and Ecolo's eyes widened, having forgotten about us and turning this way. Yep, we're in control now! While Schezo and Rulue were holding the line, the three of us got a BIG, big chain ready to go! We've been having rounds of Puyo back at the park, so might as well combine forces to get this far. Arle, Ringo and I are all in sync!
"Nyahahahaha! Oh yeah, here we go!"
By Ringo's call, the Puyo began to rapidly chain away... Oh wow! Check out all this power! Once the last Puyo popped, Arle and I went in for the big call-out.
""B-B-B-BAYOE~N!""
"GUAAAGH!"
"Owowowow!"
That's what they get for not paying attention! The spell was a big hit! And before they realized it, they've got a huge pile of garbage Puyo coming at them.
"We..."
"We did it!"
"Guguguuuu!"
The three of us jumped up, and gave each other a high five. That is the power of our friendship right there!
So updates have come to a grinding halt due to me getting caught up with classes and what not. Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten! Since I’m three chapters away from completing SSAP, I want to bring up some fascinating news.
If you’ve heard from my personal blog, I just recently acquired the Waku Puyo Manga while scouring the internet in spite of me saying that getting them would be highly unlikely. To my shock, for presumably out-of-print manga, they’re like new! Aside from the little nicks on the cover sleeve, they’re as if they haven’t been even opened at all, complete with the fresh print scent.
I’ll have you know that I am putting this on the translating backlog, especially considering this is REALLY old media that has not ever seen a scanlation EVER due to how obscure it is.
Satan’s Space Amusement Park Chapter 7 - The Queen!? The Mega Labyrinth
“Urgh, somehow, I don’t remember much about anything...”
“A-Ah, it’s alright if you don’t recall a thing.
After a while, Ringo snapped out of her funk. I could only give a rather hazy chuckle while I shouldered her around. Uhm, In actuality, I’m kinda happy that she doesn’t remember anything about earlier...
"Incidentally, Arle."
Once Ringo is safe and sound, we headed off to the next destination...or we should be until Schezo talked to Arle.
"What's up?"
"You had your share of folk launching themselves to your presence, but do you find it strange that certain someone has yet to appear?"
"That certain someone... I kinda have an idea. Ah ahahaha. You have a point there."
"Certain someone?" I asked Arle, who's forcing a smile, about it.
"Oh ho ho HO!"
We turned towards the direction of where that shrill laughter came from.
"Ahh...that sound, definitely that certain someone..."
"Gu guu..."
Arle pointed towards the laughter.
That person right there is a lone lady, standing before the tall fencing of the castle entrance, complete with a huge gate.
"I knew that you would show up, Arle! Showing up to this amusement park that darling Satan painstakingly made for me...I'm the one that'll enjoy its offerings to my heart's desire!"
"Your presence is expected, Rulue." Schezo's reacted dryly, as if he saw it coming from a mile away.
"Say what? Satan made the amusement park for you?" I asked, even if it sounded rather simplistic.
"Uh, Rulue's kinda got a thing for him, and, well, is kinda delusional about it too. It's best you just leave her be." Arle explained, as it's all so familiar to her.
"Hey, what's with that attitude!?"
The angry lady they called Rulue whipped her attention toward us, holding a folding fan in one hand.
Rulue's one of Arle and Schezo's acquaintances. Her hair's blue, wavy, and long, and with the lady-like clothing, it makes her all the prettier. Despite how she dresses, she's a martial artist that gets pretty scary when angry...really scary.
"At least keep your reaction a little more fresh when the I, the Fighting Queen Rulue, make my entrance!"
"Oh, come now, you know Carby, Schezo, even Satan, and I find it rather difficult to think otherwise when you're not around..." Arle grumbled and huffed up.
"Gugugu~" Carbuncle waved his arms at Rulue without a care.
"If I may promptly ask, are you the one holding the stamp that will soon be given out?" Ringo very calmly resumed the talk.
"....w-why you~~~!" Rulue unfolded and grasped the fan tightly.
"Ah, uh, but wait! At least you didn't have a run-in with a weird-looking clown!"
"Hey."
Arle followed after Rulue in a panic trying to sympathize with her anger, with Schezo quietly retorting. Rulue, however, isn't giving her a chance and didn't seem to listen.
"Grrr...so you were invited to darling Satan's amusement park and actually came for some fun...Arle! He stated this wasn't for you!"
"Oh, I certainly get that loud and clear."
"You think you're so proud, getting this wonderful amusement park for yourself!"
"Oh no no no! I honestly think this bizarre amusement park is really bothering me!"
"And yet, you're still having a good time as darling Satan had intended it..."
"Gah, I'm not liking that feeling."
"Aahh! The words coming from the love-struck rival's heart moves it so!"
"But I'm just about the complete opposite of being your rival..."
"Arle! If you're begging for a beatdown until you're all bruises, I'll be more than happy to oblige!"
"This painfully long conflict has to end SOMEDAY!"
"Guguguu!"
Arle and Rulue's chat sound far from even being close friends, and what a high tempo they're in this is... I continued to watch, half surprised, half admiration, until Rulue unfolded her fan and pointed at the big gate behind me.
"This here is an attraction fit for a queen. The Gorgeous✰Mega Labyrinth!"
"Gor-geous..."
The gate shined brightly, and with a loud creaaaak...it opened up. In it was a "Start" gate, as well as a bunch of roads that start there. I image they'd split up and branch out deeper in, but I can't really see where they lead. In other words, it's a maze. Then much farther from here, there would be a "Goal" flagpole somewhere, fluttering in the breeze.
"Simply put, reaching the goal of this labyrinth marks it as cleared." Schezo summarized...
"Exactly that! Moreover...If you are unable to cross the goal before I, Rulue, you will not be getting the stamp!"
"W-WHAAAAT!?" We all exclaimed.
"T-Then Satan didn't mean to have Arle have a good time here!?"
Then I get lectured...
"But of course, how do you have plenty of fun in a labyrinth? But the stamp is nothing but small talk. Oh ho ho HO!" Rulue laughed up. "Now then, let's start!"
"Huh!? Wha!?"
"Aah! You're not supposed to get a flying start!"
Rulue declared 'start' when she felt like it, facing the start gate and making a mad dash right out of it.
"Confound it...after her, you three!"
"Let's go, Carby!"
"Guguguguu!"
Continuing after Schezo, Arle and then Ringo jumped at the call.
"Ah-awawawawa..." As for me, I hesitated a bit before jumping in. "Guys~, wait for me~~~!" I frantically chased after them, the same frenzy that kinda felt flat on their ears.
A few minutes later...
"Where...where the heck am I~~~!?" I ended up losing everyone. I'm absolutely lost in this mega maze.
"Sigh...guess that's how it is, gotta fight on flying solo!"
If everyone's chasing after the goal, then probably everyone can meet up there. I faced forward with this new resolve, taking the run forward. A few steps in later though...
"Eeeek!?"
"Yikes!"
*CRASH!*
I ran head first into some figure around the turn, barely getting up after falling flat on my back.
Get real! I had to randomly run into Rulue of all people, while in the middle of heated competition!
"Amitie, you're with Arle lately aren't you...are you a child as well?"
"Y-Yeah. That's right. The name's Amitie...and my dream is to be a wonderful magician..."
"What are you doing to achieve that?"
"Uhm, well..."
"Don't tell me...you're here to stand in my way, aren't you?
"Th-th-th-th-th-that's not it at all!" I flailed my arms in a panic looking straight onto her.
And for a few moments, Rulue's looking at me with a bit of suspicion.
"Oh, fine. I suppose I have some time to babysit you." Rulue took my hand and decided to help me up..."I still must hurry onward to the goal however. So I must excuse myself." Then she turned her back to me and briskly walked off.
"O-Okaaay..."
I think I shouldn't expect any nice gestures from her...

"Excuse me, Amitie."
"What's up, Rulue?"
"Tell me why you're following me!"
"Eeeek!? Butbut see, I lost track of where I am and everyone else, and I'm super worried about them~!"
Yep. Wherever they coming from and where should I go, heck if I know. For now though, I sadly have to walk the trail behind Rulue by myself, and she's kinda ticked off.
"Hey, you know we are rivals right now..."
"I get you, but don't leave me~~~!"
"Do you even know what's coming out of your mouth!?"
And she caused a clamor in the mega labyrinth. I hate to admit it, but I'm better off solo!
"Sigh...It's fine." Rulue shrugged and sighed. "Like me, will you."
"Wait- really!? Wicked! You're being nice!"
"But of course I'm kind! ...Nevertheless, I want to win over Arle. I don't particularly resent you in any form."
"Thenthen, let's go together from here onward!"
"You're scheming something aren't you!"
"Get real!"
"Good grief...you're a strange child." Rulue grumbled, turning her back to me again and began walking away. I hesitantly followed after her.
*Shuffle shuffle...*
*Silence...*
*Trot trot...*
Uh. W-what do I do, things are getting awkward without something to talk about!
"N-Nice weather we're having, huh?" I tried breaking the ice.
"Is seeing nothing but stars in the sky considered to be nice weather?"
She's really to the point on that. Oh phooey. I'm very talkative whenever I walk about, but I'm not that great in moments like this... Think of something, some topic...I got it!
"Hey Rulue, do you hate Arle?"
"Huh?"
With a name that's widely known like Arle, it looks like I grabbed Rulue's attention as she looked in my direction.
"But see, you're always complaining and grumbling about her~"
"So what if I do complain on a regular basis..."
"You're always so angry!"
"Now hold up, would you cut out with talking about how angry I'm sounding?"
"But I really like Arle's company and I just wanna know what you think about her!"
"About that..." Rulue froze, seemingly at a loss of words. She began muttering a few words as she took a few steps forward.
"Actually...Arle as a person, I do not find myself particularly despising her at all."
"Oh really now! That's nice to hear~"
"However! I still cannot forgive her so easily!"
"Heh?"
"She is the one obstacle that stands in the way between Satan and I...and is therefore my rival!"
"A- A- An obstacle~!?"
I-I didn't think she'd see it that way... Instead, she's seeing and taking Satan's approaches on Arle rather poorly. But with a straight response like that, it kinda kills the mood. Then again, I do ask really typical questions.
"Hey Rulue, do you really love Satan?"
"But of course! He is only the most noble, powerful, handsome..."
"Uh, so you say you don't really hate Arle. If that's true, then why don't you three get along?"
"Huh?"
"Uh, I counted Carbuncle... Oh yeah, Schezo especially counts too! Even Ringo and I also count! Right!"
"W-what are you even saying...?"
"Uhh hmm..." I can't really explain it. I only continued to talk more excitedly. "When I came to the amusement park, I've been thinking... Satan's all about Arle and Carbuncle...And Ecolo's all about wanting to play with Ringo. Well, I'm fine that I'm always traveling with everyone..."

"Hey Rulue, are you okay when it's just you and Satan?"
"...Ah yes."
"Then what's up? Why so?"
"I see it... I didn't quite understand."
"Y-yeah."
I've been steadily trailing Rulue for a while, and now she's coming to a slow stop for me to get beside her.
"Rulue?"
Rulue let out a gentle giggle as I peeked over from the side. Ahh, it's the first time I'm seeing this face... She's so very pretty, and I wouldn't mind if she laughed like this all the time. She then resumed her talk.
"True, everyone here wants a lively time, that's not a bad thing. But how about if you were with a special someone."
"Special?"
"Yes. Not an ordinary one, a special one. If such company was left to just the two of you, it'd be no different than a date. Thus, to that person, they'd see it as something special."
"Uh-u~~~hm..."
"As a trial, let that male friend's face come to mind."
"Wha-"
"That child, would you say that one is special to you?"
"Wh- wh- wh..."
Why am I blushing all of a sudden. I'm getting bothered by this, and I can't hold my focus. Rulue couldn't help but laugh seeing me like this.
"Fufu, so childish. Don't you know how to romance?"
"R-Romance~!? I-I totally do!"
"Oh?"
"Romance is, uhm, dating and stuff...andand!"
I really can't be serious with this answer. Love is a thing that can be with everyone, not just a couple.
"Oh come on, it can't be just a thing for couples..."
"I wonder why."
"Stop dodging the question and tell me~!"
"I'm not dodging the question. I do not quite understand it myself."
"Say wha~?"
"I mean it. I've always and have been in love with Satan, but am unsure why."
"So that's what you mean..."
"When isn't it that way?"
Talking with Rulue's been really nerve-wracking, but just outta nowhere she let her grip go. I continued running alongside her within this quiet maze...
"AAAAAAH!!"
W-what the heck!? Rulue suddenly shrieked, completely blowing the calming quiet to absolute nothingness!
"That's...that's Arle! How~dare~she~pass~ME!" Rulue darted her finger forward. Up at the hilltop zone, the goal was standing right there. The moment I took notice, Arle and the others already made a beeline down the path and headed towards the goal without hesitation.
"Ah- Wowie! Look at everyone go!"
"Tch...I knew I shouldn't have got myself into deep discussion..."
"Ehehe, sorry~. Does that mean Arle and the others will win?"
"........." Rulue hung and shook her head in shame. "I won't forgive this..."
She just took a 180 mood swing from earlier.
"Hey uh, Rulue, what's with the scary look?" I ever so timidly asked...
"Haganken!!"
*SLAM*
"Wh..."
I- Is she mad at something? Rulue went up to a wall and busted a hole through it... And I'm here all bolted up stiff.
"Fuujinkkyaju! Tekken seisai!!"
*KICK!* *SMASH!!*
"W-WHOAAAH! I wasn't imagining it! She really did mean to punch a big hole in maze's walls!"
Rulue let out a feeble laughter as she continued her destruction.
"Starting to feel rather exhausted...But I must break through this wall standing in my way! A maiden is always forward with herself!"
"But doesn't that sound very un-maiden-like!?"
"Shut up, If you have time to keep on grumbling and furiously gather and pop Puyo, show me what you've got!"
"H-H-Hold up, why me..."
"Your blathering caused all these delays! I want none of it...Joou RANBU!"
"AAAAAAH!!"
Eventually... Soon after Rulue busted the wall down, we've barely made it to the goal! But we ended up getting disqualified. Seen that coming...
