[HGF] the blue feather.
Skye had made it to the top of the mountain. Of course he had made it to the top of the mountain. Skye is ex-navy; what did you think? He is in prime condition. This isnât the first time heâs climbed a mountain barehanded and it wonât be his last.
The top of the mountain is cold. Itâs late summer fading into early autumn on the ground, but up here it feels like a whole season later in the world. Tiny sprinkles of snow litter the ground, dance from the sky. Like the icing on a cake, Skye supposes.
The wind is grey. There is something stirring in the air; a sense of anticipation. Skye doesnât know what it is or whatâs about to happen or why everything is so bloody quiet --
Oh. Oh.
Thereâs a bird, high above, but Skye can see it clearly. Sky-blue and so, so beautiful. It circles the mountain, circles him and then he feels a pair of arms on his shoulders, a warm smile on the face of the Goddess he cannot see.
A single blue feather drifts down and lands right in Skyeâs hands.
Well. ...Thereâs that.
