You lay still, body sprawled across your bed with your legs hanging off the corner. Staring at the ceiling, you let your eyes trail down the wallpaper, barely taking in the intricacy of them. After all, youâve seen them every day.Â
Your heartbeats were pounding against your eardrums. Trying to count them to take your attention off everything else, you noticed how your palms were clammy, your face warm and your throat dry â you gulped.Â
âItâs you, isnât it?â
The voice rang in your ears again, replaying itself for the 3rd time since it happened a couple of minutes ago, so loud and clear it was almost as if he was right next to you. You cringed and brought your leg up before swinging it back down hard, kicking the soft mattress and duvet covers so boisterously that the bedding had sprung back up and made your whole body bounce before you turned onto your stomach and screamed into your sheets.Â
You stayed there, face-down for a minute or so, kicking your bed again now and then, until you couldnât breathe anymore and flipped back around angrily. A dark, human-like figure by your ajar door catches the corner of your eye and you flinch and shot upright, hard and fast enough to slam your elbow into the wooden headrest. Funny enough, the âdark figureâ at the door also jumps at the sound of the accident.
In the split second before the pain hits you, you recognized the figure as none another than Mingyu.Â
âYouââ Mingyu was wide-eyed, stunned. âYou okay, friend?"Â
Holding your elbow with tears at the corners of your eyes, you finally let out your hitched breath and pressed your lips into a sad curve before plopping back down onto your bed and curling into a ball.Â
Mingyu slowly pushes the door open and tentatively steps in, constantly looking back out at the corridor before coming in and closing the door. He stops there for a second, then starts walking towards you almost sheepishly and nervously. Â
"Y/Nââ he started, but that was all he managed to say before you sat back up and started hurling things at him.Â
âHowââ you threw a pillow,Â
âManyââ you threw another,Â
âTimesââ a bolster this time,Â
 âMust I tell you to knock before coming in!â you practically shouted.
Mingyu gets whacked by the first pillow but dodges the next, and catches the last item before throwing it back at you.
