“You’re an expert at what you do.” Arya smiled a little, nodding at the brunette as the background music trilled into an ending note for the song. Her smile turned coy, a habit that Arya’s mother once told her she used to do, as she raised her chin ever so slightly to peer around the crowd, light gaze glanced over towards the direction of the king. “Honestly, my lady, I’m still not yet used to being back. Returning to court around a coronation is a flurry of excited chaos. And, so many years have passed since our fathers have discussed my prospects with your brother, but know this. I just want to be able to support him during this time as much as I can.”
During her intensive training to seamlessly blend into the new Arya, she’d learned the Olwens and the Kadares once promised their two children to one day wed. Of course, once the true Arya secretly fled, and tragically passed, the Olwens wanted nothing more than to maintain that resolution. And, for now, the facade was flawless. Yet even reminiscing of this plan, even talking of this deal between the Olwen family and the now murdered king, and as the deal was teetering already, the petite blonde felt a flutter of nerves from the pit of her stomach. She could sense Vivian Olwen’s eyes lurking in the room, burning into her like a hawk. So, she let out a natural sigh, leaning towards Eleonora, “The court can be an overwhelming place. If either you or your brother ever need somewhere to escape, even for a bit of rest, my family home is always welcome. You’d love it, after all this time. Nothing but fields, forests, for what seems like an eternity. I’ll miss the quiet during my time here.”
“I was raised to be how I am, so I guess that if I wasn’t an expert than I would be failing my tutors.” She laughed softly. The princess simply fulfilled her duties. It was as easy as breathing to her. The way she held herself, the tone of her voice, and simply her aura had been cultivated long before she even realized it. It even showed up when she tried to hide it in the burrows. She nodded. “Ah.” Eleonora had honestly long since forgotten the prospect of Arya marrying her father and the princess wondered if that would necessarily be the best choice for her country. Yet, she was not going to speak of that to the woman. Even if they were close friends as children, Eleonora would not deny the potential of more beneficial prospects for her country potentially coming forward.
The court didn’t feel like pressure to Eleonora. It had simply grown stale and boring. All the sparkles had dulled though her dress was covered in enough glittering gems to make the night sky envy her. It was why she was a thrill-seeker in the night time going by another name. Politely, Eleonora shook her head. “I do not think we will necessarily have time to leave court on vacation. There are a lot of duties here. I greatly appreciate your offer though.” Not to mention, Eleonora wouldn’t want to be too far from her fighter. She already had such a limited time with him.
