Welcome to @princessanisharosnah, my side blog about the newest Bruneian princess and as far as I know the newest princess worldwide. I will be attempting to post about every single one of her appearances after the wedding and I may do some pre-wedding stuff too.

Princess Zahra Mariam

The royal court has announced the name of Prince Mateen and Princess Anisha’s daughter as Zahra Mariam. Her full name with titles is Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Zahra Mariam Bolkiah Binti Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Mateen.

Safely Given Birth To A Princess

By command of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Office of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam announced that Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Anisha Rosnah binti Adam, wife of His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, with the grace of Allah The Almighty, safely delivered a Princess on Sunday, 20 Syaaban 1447, corresponding to February 8, 2026, at 8.50 in the morning. Following the birth, a 17-gun salute was fired at the grounds of Istana Nurul Iman.

What happen's next?

So far everything has been the same as the Sultan's other grandchildren's births — They officially announced that the baby was born and shot off some cannons.

If they continue to follow the same pattern we should get the baby's name and a photo of her laying on a gold cloth in about a week. There's no set time for this. Sometimes it's less than a week but sometimes it's over a month.

Here's what the picture will look like. On the left is Fadzilah and Abdullah's daughter, Daniya Rahmatul Bolkiah, who was born on 2 October 2024. On the right is Malik and Raabi'atul's youngest daughter, Nabeelah Najmul Bolqiah, who was born on 9 April 2025.

The baby will have the style of Yang Amat Mulia and the title of Pengiran Anak. This is the same as all of the Sultan's other grandchildren. She will probably have two given names plus Bolkiah/Bolqiah/Bulqiah. I have no idea why different members of the family spell it differently. In the Sultan's generation all of the boy's names ended in Bolkiah but in his children's generation all of the girl's name ended in it. The tradition seems to be continuing on with the girls because all of his granddaughter's also end in a form of the name.

The first given name will probably be something that will be easy to use internationally and the Sultan's children and grandchildren usually have Arabic origin first names. Then the second name will probably end in the letters 'ul' because they always do for some reason. So the baby's name will be...

After that I wouldn't be surprised if Mateen posted some pictures of the baby on IG with or without her parents probably taken by Muash Rosman like Fadzilah did.

Finally there will be a Kesyukuran Ceremony which is a service of thanksgiving for the baby and mother. They will recite prayers and shoot off some more cannons. Again there is no set time for this but probably a couple of months after the birth.

It is part of the larger Istiadat Bersiram aka royal bathing ceremony but the rest is not usually public. The mother and baby will be sprinkled with scented water and flower petals. It's supposed to formally mark the end of the mother's confinement but that doesn't necessarily mean that Anisha has to stay out of the public until then.

21 January 2026 | Princess Anisha along with other members of the royal family went to the hospital where the Sultan was leaving after having knee replacement surgery at Jerudong Park Medical Centre.

14 January 2026 | Prince Mateen posted two photos of him and Princess Anisha for their second wedding anniversary.

31 December 2025 | Princess Anisha and Prince Mateen wished everyone a Happy New Year on Instagram.

The photo looks like is was taken during their pregnancy announcement photoshoot in October.

Did Anisha grow up in Brunei or in the UK and her mom lives in Brunei?

Anisha was born in London but grew up mostly in Brunei. Her and her siblings all went to Jerudong International School in Brunei and then went to university in the UK. They seem to have traveled to Europe quite a bit too.

Her mom, Siti Mariam binti Isa, has a home in Brunei but it wouldn't surprise me if she also has one in the UK.

Do you know if Janetira is Muslim? Or Rayan?

Janetira has never outright said her religion but my guess is that she’s still Buddhist. In Brunei, Muslims cannot marry people of other religions. The other person would have to convert before they got married for the marriage to be legal. Janetira and Danial had their Akad Nikah ceremony in Thailand sidestepping that issue which makes me think that she did not convert to Islam.

Janetira annd Danial have also never said anything publicly about what religion they are going to raise their son in. They did share some photos of them taking Rayan to Wat Arun, a Buddhist temple, so that makes me lean towards Buddhism for him too.

Anisha's Jewelry Box - Moussaieff Diamond Necklace

The necklace is made of 92.02 carats of pear, cushion and round shaped diamonds.

It has a loop to attach another diamond to the center but I assume that the giant diamond attached to the necklace in the left picture belongs to the royal family not Princess Anisha personally. The tiara and earrings worn with the necklace at her wedding reception were also loaned from the family collection.

Which denim set? Haha, when she likes something she really likes it.

Anisha wears a lot of blacks, whites, and neutrals so I really like it when she wears bold colors especially jewel tones.

9 December 2025 | Princess Anisha visited the Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability in Bangkok, Thailand. While there she participated in a baking class for the APCD Bakery & Chocolate Café which helps with training and employment for people with disabilities.

19 December 2025 | Princess Anisha attended the Brunei vs Indonesia polo match at the SEA Games at Siam Polo Park. Prince Mateen, Princess Azemah, and Prince Bahar all play for the Bruneian national team.
