It always brought her joy to see the men of the town stumble into her shop. With each came a small challenge to pick out the right gift for their girlfriends or sisters or co-workers. “Future?” she echoed. “How wonderful! Congrats to your brother.” She walked over to the purses and waved for him to follow. “I’m sure they’ll be taking a lot of trips together. You can never go wrong with bags. They’re cute and useful when traveling.”
"Yes, indeed," he said, dryly. He was spectacularly unamused by the antics of both his brothers. "A purse would be a good idea," Alexander mused as he followed her. "She wears a lot of...country club colors, I would say. Pinks, whites, greens, yellows. Tennis player. What would you say she'd like best?"
