Thoughtful Thursdays! Do something thoughtful for someone today. Anything from holding the door open to paying for the person behind you. You will change their day and maybe even their heart!

Although tragedy is happening all around us we can still try to find some good. Of the latest tragedies was the shooting at the Fort Lauderdale Airport, very sobering and scary for those that frequent that airport. With all the chaos and heartbreaking screams going on how could you even imagine the concept of being kind? Well I heard a story of a man who went beyond the call of kindness. As a woman falls to the floor at the time of the shooting, a complete stranger comes along and uses his body to shield her from any potential harm. Totally mind blowing! How many of us would put ourselves in danger to protect someone else? A complete stranger at that. Ponder on that for a while, I know I did!

When I see others doing kind actions, it really brings joy to my heart. Today I want to highlight Project 3:30. Project 3:30 showcases God-Given talent, one story at a time. The members of Project 3:30 went holiday shopping for some really special individuals, buying jackets, sweaters, and scarfs! Take some time to check out the video below! Mixed with their individual humor, this video depicts actions of kind hearts!

Today is Drive-Thru Thursday. If you find yourself in a drive-thru today, simply pay for the person behind you and watch their reaction in your rear view mirror. Priceless!

Four days into the New Year and still so much going on in the world. With all the hate and discouragement, the need for kindness is at an all time high. Despite your situation being kind can still be apart of your daily life. I heard a sweet story today of an elderly man needing someone to call for his ride. Not only did this person call and arrange his ride, but also waited for his ride to get there. While waiting they were able to talk about things going on in his life and even exchanged laughs. Something so simple, yet such a big gesture of kindness. As life is happening to us all try to find small opportunities to show kindness. It will warm your heart and bring a smile to your face!

Kindness is defined as the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate.
I challenge you to be friendly, generous, and considerate to everyone you come in contact with. Being friendly can be as easy as smiling at someone you wouldn’t normally smile at. You frequently hear people say, “You never know what someone is going through”, and a small act of kindness can have a major impact on that person. Try it today!

As I sit and reflect on 2016, I can honestly say Project Kindness has been on my mind for quite some time. As the year comes to an end and we ponder on all things 2017, I’m excited for this to be at the top of my list. Not only does it challenge you, but it also challenges me to incorporate kindness into everyday practice. As you make your list of goals and New Year’s resolution, consider adding being kind(er) to your list.
