Some regina selfcest thoughts…

Basically: during her time as the mayor, after a failed suicide attempt and while spiraling into psychosis, she starts hallucinating her younger self — a girl who understands every single wound and emotion she’s ever gone through because she is her. But at the same time, she carries this almost childish cruelty to her, completely incapable of feeling guilty for hurting other people.

The older version keeps acting like she’s resisting the younger self’s urges to kill, but in reality she still goes through with it every time, just pushing the blame onto her instead.

And then, when she’s finally completely crushed by her mental illness and ready to kill herself for real, the younger self says:

“How long are you going to keep running away from yourself?”

“I’m literally you.”

Right before she bleeds out, she kisses her younger self — and then the hallucination disappears with her.
